Acer's new smartphone comes with a 4,8-inch display

The company has also officially announced its device with a huge display.

Although Acer does not yet have a significant share of the mobile market, the model just announced could be a worthy competitor to either the iPhone or the Galaxy S. The exact name of the novelty has not yet been announced by the manufacturer, but some information is already known about it.

Acer’s novelty boasts no less than a 4,8-inch 1024 × 480 LED-backlit display. The speed is provided by a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor and will certainly be running the latest 2.3 release of Android. We can take our photos with the 8Mpixel camera, which is assisted by an LED flash in the dark. The front panel houses a 2 Megapixel camera for video calling. It may hit store shelves in April 2011, the expected price of which is not yet known.
