Dell recalls 4,1 million laptop batteries

The recall affected Sony batteries in Dell notebooks sold between April 2004 and August 2006.

For overheating, ignition and worst case to explode tending to replace Sony batteries, the manufacturer recommends that the price of laptops be resolved with an AC adapter, but be sure to avoid further use of accident-prone units.

The problem is likely to be caused by contaminants inside the anode and cathode, which after a while get outside the anode and then pass through the insulating material and cause a fire.
