SQ8 - a full HD mini-camera for HUF 3000

You’ve already seen a camera like the SQ8 with us, but since I’m always amazed at these little things, you can now see one again.

The SQ8 mini is a 1080p camera with full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. According to his data sheet, this is a mini DVR, ie a tachograph camera that can be used in a car. This is mostly a correct assumption because the camera does not come with the accessories that are common with sports cameras, so there is no waterproof housing and no thousands of mountings.

With the camera, you can record not only movies but also still images. As usual, we have a much higher resolution than photography, in this case 4032 x 3024 pixels. From this data, you can immediately see that the image of the recorded video is widescreen, so it is 16: 9, but the photos are taken with the traditional 4: 3 aspect ratio.

The SQ8 mini has been given a 200 mAh battery. This allows approximately 2 minutes of operation after 3-100 hours of charging without external power supply. The charging voltage was 5 anyway, so the little thing can be charged from a USB port. According to the description, the supported operating systems are Windows ME / 2000 / XP / 2003 / Vista, Mac OS and Linux, but we would be very surprised if the completed recordings could not be downloaded under Windows 7/8 or 10.

As usual, the price of the camera is left at the end, which of course has already been revealed from the title, so I won't tell you a big secret with it if I describe it again. So they ask for $ 11 for the camera, which is roughly 3000 forints, plus shipping is free!
