Tried it: AMD Radeon HD 7870/7850 - dangerous pit bulls

Games:

 avp 1

Let’s move on to games, first Alien vs Predator, which was one of the first game software to use tessellation. Although Pitcairn is in a good tessel position, this engine somehow didn’t win its favor, as the HD 7870 gets out of the 6970 and can only be captured by the HD 6950, and the 7850 makes sense by the end of the four. Compared to GeForces, the situation is no longer bad, the 7870 is 2 FPS from the GTX 580 and the 7850 is 2 FPS from the GTX 570.

farcry2 1

Far Cry 2 is the oldest game in our test, a good measure of how a new architecture performs in old, older engines in addition to new games. It looks like the GCN architecture and the Dunia engine will no longer be big friends. Tahiti couldn’t flash here either, nor could Pitcairn, but there’s nothing surprising about that. The 7870 performs at about the level of the GTX 560 Ti and is wedged between the two Caymans, while the 7850 is stuck at the end of the complete field. Don't grieve for long!

f12011 1

The F1 2011 has a completely different dough, based on a turbocharged Neon engine 2. DirectX 11 support, tessellation, has it all. Pitcairn also liked these features, with the 7870 beating the HD 10 by almost 6970 FPS and the 7850 only 1 FPS behind. The 7870 handled the GTX 570 and the 7850 confidently crumpled the GTX 560 Ti.

The Hawx 2 engine can also be considered a modern engine with DX11 and tessellation, but it is optimized so well that more serious cards will not infrequently kick above 100 FPS, as they do now. There is tremendous development here, almost humiliation taking place between Pitcairn and Cayman. The 7870 beats the 14 by 6970 FPS, and the 7850 also outperforms the latter by no less than 6 (7 at the higher resolution) FPS. However, the GeForces aren't idle here either, at the lower resolution the 7870 still manages to suppress the GTX 570, but FULL HD is already bleeding, while the 7850 is defeating the GTX 560 Ti at both resolutions.
