Tried it out: AMD GCN - Introducing the Radeon HD 7970 and HD 7950

GIGABYTE HD 7950 - GV-R795WF3-3GD

The GIGABYTE card is different from AMD's reference solution. It got its own printed circuit board with GIGABYTE Ultra Durable VGA components that we already know well. The PCB is 28,5 cm long, 12,6 cm wide and 3,8 cm thick together with the cooling, which is a very serious piece at first glance. The rib system practically consists of three blocks. The main unit extends above the GPU, while the other two extend toward the edges of the PCB. These are woven through thick (8 mm) copper heat pipes, further aiding heat dissipation.

Efrom now on, only one DVI is available, next to which is a native HDMI 1.4a, which is special in that it operates at 3 GHz, so it also supports 4096 × 2160 pixel resolution displays, and is able to transmit FULL HD stereo 3D material at 60 frames. We get two more miniDisplay ports with a 1.2 standard that also knows the latest technologies, Eyefinity has moved to version 2.0, where each display can receive a separate 8-channel sound.

GIGABYTE has also changed the clock speed, raising the GPU's 800 MHz base frequency to 900 MHz, leaving the RAM clock intact. The nice-looking box included the usual things, in addition to the installation disc and user manual, we get a CrossFireX bridge and two molex-> PCI Express power adapters.
