Still a back cover fingerprint reader on Xiaomi Mi 9?

In recent days, most of the guesswork has surrounded Xiaomi’s new flagship.

Based on a photo, it looked like the phone was getting a fingerprint reader under the front of the glass, but according to a recent photo, that won’t be the case yet. The demo device in the photo has a cover that covers the details from essentially the entire surface, but it’s still obvious that the big hole in the middle of the back can’t be anything more than a fingerprint scanner.

This probably means that the Mi 9 will also be available in several versions, so it is also likely that there will only be another version of Explorer or Pro with a scanner under the glass, while the cheaper versions will still use a backplane solution.
