LG and Microsoft have reached a new strategic agreement

LG Electronics and Microsoft have signed a joint patent agreement to develop and market LG's multi-computer solution for network monitors with WMS and RemoteFX support.

Under the agreement, LG will introduce a new RemoteFX platform network monitor series in mid-2011. With LG network monitors, a network of screens can be connected to a single computer, meaning up to 31 monitors can be connected to a host computer.

LG’s network monitors will use Microsoft’s Windows MultiPoint Server 2010, which, for example, will allow educational institutions to provide a unique Windows environment for multiple students at an overall lower cost. In addition, the LG network monitor on the Microsoft WMS 2010 platform will be so easy to operate that even those without technical knowledge will be able to easily set up and manage workstations. In a multilingual environment, individual learners can use a different language on network monitors connected to a WMS host.

The collaboration between LG and Microsoft also includes the development of integrated network monitors enhanced with RemoteFX capabilities. The RemoteFX platform significantly expands security and management functions. LG's network monitors make it possible to use cloud computing. An IT cloud is based on a virtual computing solution that provides users with access to the exact same infrastructure, platform, and software services they need over the Internet. This market is expected to expand to 2012 million units by 1,2.
