AMD begins subtracting Athlon X2 CPUs

Dual-, tri- and quad-core Phenom processors based on the K10 architecture will be available in the first half of the year, so AMD will soon begin phasing out the previous generation.

Production of the Athlon X2 4000+, 4200+, 5600+, 6000+ and 6400+ Black Edition processors will cease in the first quarter, with orders in stock meeting orders received earlier this year.

AMD will fill the gap in the product range with the K8-based Athlon X2 4600+ processor, which debuts in the second quarter - clock speed: 2,3 GHz, TDP: 65 W, and two K10 dual-core CPUs, codenamed Kuma.
