zanflare T1 test - it became clear!

Our latest creation is a (innovative) hiking light. Where from? You could have guessed two, but I think it will work first.

zanflare T1 test - it became clear!

Introductory

I still hold the view that whatever device is designed for outdoor use can be used perfectly indoors, and may even be preferred — obviously there are some limitations to this statement. In the case of the zanflare T1, this statement holds true, as the gadget's hiking light is now essentially IP65-protected (protected against solids and dirt, and resistant to low-pressure water jets). This is a remarkable positive, but I honestly admit, going through the main technical specifications, my first thought was that in addition to the $ 29,99 price tag, I would have to pull the rabbit out of the hat hard here because it wasn’t a penny device.

Use

There is no need to waste a lot of words on the packaging, from the inside of the boastless box, in addition to the lamp named T1, a USB cable of understandable length came out, and the English user manual came out. The battery was in place at the factory, it also contained cocoa, so I got the lamp essentially in a state of immediate use. Zanflare has apparently tried to spice up the stuff with some “blood-curdling” solutions, so luckily they weren’t by far an ordinary lamp.

t1 specs custom

Because, as the video below will show, the T1 is capable of a variety of light effects; these can be accessed by using the touch button at the top ("SW2") or by using the secondary control button at the bottom ("SW1") - the former is used to switch it on and the latter to switch it off.

zanflare t1 feature

Touch button (SW2)

  • Short touch → power on and change colors (white, warm white)
  • Long touch → change luminous flux (between 1 and 350 lumens)

Push button (SW1)

  • Button press → red light and SOS signal
  • Press and hold (for two seconds) → switch off the device

That's it, but it's not necessarily small either, because on the one hand we can significantly extend the operating time by choosing the optimal brightness, and on the other hand we can create great mood lighting even with these three color effects! Even before anyone thinks in their minds: no, it’s not a smart device, so we won’t be able to control it from a phone. I had the opportunity to test the aforementioned runtime more thoroughly in high-brightness mode - at low brightness it would be quite lengthy, so look at this for us - there I found that the numbers given by the manufacturer are close to reality. Anyway, I highly doubt that a lot of people will be running the stuff with the highest amount of light all the way through, because 350 lumens isn’t enough.

Tips and Comments:

  • It is not recommended to keep the hiking light on during charging, as this will prolong the charge and damage the internal battery. If you can't ignore it at all, set it to at least low brightness!
  • The charge indicator goes into “panic mode” below 30%, so after the first warning appears, we don’t have to doubt it right away, the lamp will last for a while longer. T1 automatically shuts off when the energy storage tank runs out.
  • Be sure to insert the battery with the positive side facing forward.
  • The luminous flux can be controlled by holding down SW2, simply lift your finger when the lighting has reached the desired level.
  • The total charging time, according to the manufacturer, is 4 hours, with a T1 blue light indicating when the battery has reached full capacity.
  • The actual operating time is difficult to estimate accurately due to the different modes, it is certain that I have operated at varying levels (sometimes stronger and sometimes weaker luminous flux), but also with daily use for a month without any problems!
  • The device has a mode memory function, so the next time you turn it on, it will start with the previous setting, and the brightness will also be fixed for different colors.

zanflare t1 usage

Cue

He’s convinced, though I still think some discount won’t hurt the stuff - luckily he’s on sale now. On the positive side, the T1's sleek design and relatively versatile capabilities are appreciated, as well as the manufacturer's attention to the following: protective cap for USB port, IP65 protection, hanger, magnetic attachment. However, the size of the supplied power source is not exactly sloping (2 mAh), therefore it can be laid in 600 hours with intense lighting. After some deliberation, we came to the conclusion that at a slightly better price - so during the special offer period - he would receive the recommended logo, so the plecsni shown below was born with this in mind. By the way, we liked the zanflare T3 even with the original price, because in technical terms (functionality, material quality, etc.) we did not find any worthwhile objections to it; maybe I can only blame him for adjusting the light intensity quite quickly, so it’s not easy to hit the value you want.
