Xiaomi UWB technology, the future of smart home
Xiaomi’s smart home solutions are deservedly popular, but it wouldn’t hurt to have some simplification in the use of the devices.
In a wild new video released today, Xiaomi shows how he envisions the smart home software of the future, and what can I say, I like the thing. The Mi Home app is good, but if we have a lot of tools and why not have a lot, then after a while it’s getting more macerious to handle lots of widgets. Sure, there’s a way to filter by room and put a tablet in each room to control the devices that belong there, but that’s still far from practical.
In the video below, we see a new, revolutionary solution that, with a GPS-like solution (no, there are no satellites here), our phone will see what device we’re pointing at, and the dashboard for that device will automatically pop up.
That is, if we turn to the lamp, we can immediately adjust the brightness, the color, if we turn to the speaker, we can immediately send music to it, and so on. If Xiaomi’s UWB technology spreads, I feel it will go a long way in helping you manage your gadgets and can also make smart home solutions attractive to those who have hesitated to cut into development so far.
