Xiaomi selfie stick, which makes you happy to swing

Nothing extra, only Xiaomi is so impeccable!

There have been so many good Xiaomi actions lately that I’ve ordered some things I’ve long wanted to try out. Of course, rehearsal also means doing it with you, or at least writing about them, so that you too can learn. I will first introduce you to a selfie stick that has several extras.

We all know what a selfie stick is. I was the first to see this in Japanese tourists in the Buda Castle, I was amazed at it. Let's say you guessed it, it didn't happen 1-2 years ago either. I haven’t been infected with the craze for making self-portraits since, but when I saw the Xiaomi stuff I knew I was going to be able to use that.

In my case, it’s not about making snapshot pictures of myself, it’s more about being able to take pictures of ourselves from a greater distance than an arm’s reach when we go hiking or motorcycling with my partner. With this tool, it is guaranteed to go!

However, before we get into the details, let’s see what the package I received looks like. The stick arrived from Xiaom in the usual broken white box. On the obverse we see the device itself, and around the box we can read a lot of text written in Chinese, already, of course, if we know this ornate language. Fortunately, using Xiaomi’s solution does not require a degree, and most importantly no more detailed description.

Unfolding the elongated box, we find a smaller paper box. Opening this, something oval with a gray top and a white bottom with a push button falls into the palm of our hand. Underneath this box is the stick itself in a plastic bag with a pleasant feel.

The selfie stick looks quality at first glance. The lower part and the fold-out phone holder are made of harder but pleasant to the touch plastic, while the middle and bottom of the stick have a rubber cover. These rubber parts did not accidentally receive such material. In the middle part we find the location of the push-button thing already mentioned above, at least we can deduce this from the shape and size of the recess.

Rotating the Xiaomi selfie stick, we can notice that the grip consists of three parts, which we can unfold like legs. This is where the rubberizing of the end of the handle gets an emotion, because if we can split the legs, the end of these will become non-slip thanks to the rubber. This is one of the modes of the stick, we can turn it into a tripod, so our phone does not have to look for any kind of support if we want to take a photo of ourselves from a distance.

You can attach the phone to the top of the stick. This folding holder can be rotated horizontally and tilted vertically. It holds our phone firmly so we don’t have to worry about it falling out and being damaged in any way. With the help of the rotatable, fold-down holder, we can also use the device as a stand and as a selfie stick. Another pleasant surprise is that the stick is telescopic, so the stick, which looks short at first, stretches 23 centimeters thanks to the pull-out aluminum attachment, so it can also be used as a traditional selfie stick.

The traditional way to take photos is with a cable. There is a wired connection between the firing key and the phone. Xiaomi thought further, and placed the firing key on a Bluetooth remote control. This is the little oval something we first found in the package, this is what we can snap into the rubberized part of the stick.

You might think that being able to connect your phone and stick with Bluetooth doesn’t just make much sense without having to plug a string into your phone. This is where the fold-out foot really makes sense, as with the exception of the rubber part, the Bluetooth button immediately becomes a remote control, so you can take pictures of yourself from a distance of up to 5-10 meters with the phone mounted on a tripod.

Needless to say, the tiny remote control is waterproof. No battery is needed, the built-in 60 mAh battery stores enough energy to use it for a long time without charging. You can use any 5 volt USB solution for charging, whether a phone charger or a USB port on your computer or an external battery is perfect for the job.

In conclusion, Xiaomi’s selfie stick is guaranteed not to ruin the company’s reputation. It is already a quality and cool device at a glance, it is made of pleasant plastics and aluminum parts, so it weighs only 15 deca. Xiaomi has set a very friendly price for this easy and easy-to-use device, as we currently have to pay less than 4200 forints. Since it was already in my hand, I’ve seen up close several similar devices I can say that the Xiaomi stick is miles above an average selfie stick in quality. Needless to say, I didn’t regret spending this modest amount.
