Xiaomi is one of the few manufacturers that can make a big difference in almost every area of ​​the electronics market. Whether it’s smartphones, smart bracelets or watches, but whether it’s drones or accessories for a healthy life, Xiaomi is able to create something lasting, and with that, it has amassed a huge fan base to this day.

In our article today you can read a test of a very cheap and brilliantly functioning Bluetooth headset based on preliminary news. Since it is not a complicated tool, much of the article is made up of images, but we also try to provide useful information, ones that cannot be guessed from the images.

The Xiaomi Mi LYEJ02LM Bluetooth headset came in the usual simple yet eye-catching packaging from the manufacturer. The box has a clear plastic cover, usually surrounded by white cardboard. The tab is already visible, and the accessories come out by opening both sides of the box.

Don’t expect a plethora of the included stuff, but you still get exactly what you need to use it. On one side, a plastic bag comes in two more sizes of pillows - for a total of three sizes - while on the other side you will find a very short cable for charging and instructions in Chinese. We’ve gotten used to the fact that Xiaomi doesn’t bitch a lot with the look of its products. This, of course, is just the appearance, because a simple yet elegant look is perhaps the form that requires the most attention. And the Xiaomi Mi LYEJ02LM is just that, simple yet elegant.

Available in black and white, the tabbed cover is made of plastic, has a matte finish, and collects relatively little fingerprint. The shape mostly evokes an AAA element for size, from which you can already feel quite small, and its weight, as you can read above, is only 6,5 grams.

At the end closest to our mouths, we find the USB charger connector, and above it, a mode LED that glows or flashes blue or red. Going up, we find two more control buttons at the top of the headset, and at the top, we can turn it on. The cushion that fits in the ear is made of soft silicone and we find a strange hanger on it, which, as you can read later, is not really a hanger.

Use

Most importantly, the Xiaomi Mi LYEJ02LM uses Bluetooth 4.1 so we can pair it with two phones at once. This was a very pleasant surprise for me, for example, because I was able to use my business and private cell phones with it at the same time.

Among the abilities, you could read that the earpiece can work for about 5 hours after two hours of charging, at least that’s all we can talk to him about. The standby time is obviously much longer. Although five hours doesn’t seem like much, it means a good few days of talk time for me, so it was plenty enough to spend every three days. I understand this on weekdays, of course I didn’t talk that much on the weekends.

The buttons on the Xiaomi Mi LYEJ02LM headset have several functions, including:

Top large button:

• Power on - Press until a small melody sounds
• Power off - Press until you hear a melody other than power on
• Pairing - Press and hold until the blue LED starts flashing
• Answer a call - Press briefly when switched on
• Last number dialed - Press twice quickly
• Mute - During a call, press twice quickly
• Stop or start playing music - Just press once

Side buttons

• Adjust the volume - Press any key pauses to adjust the volume up and down
• To skip a track when listening to music - Press and hold any key to go forward and backward through the tracks

Use in practice

After switching on, press and hold the large top button and the status LED will start flashing blue. This makes the headset recognizable to phones or other Bluetooth devices. Pairing is done as usual, no code is required, just confirmation.

If you want to pair a second phone, turn off the headset, turn off the Bluetooth connection on the first phone. Reconnect the earpiece and pair it in the same way as the first device. When you're done, you can turn Bluetooth back on on the first phone, and it will connect automatically.

The Xiaomi Mi LYEJ02LM headset uses a completely normal dynamic drive to vibrate the air, meaning we could come across a traditional membrane solution if disassembled. This membrane solution is the cheaper solution used by entry-level earphones, with all its advantages and disadvantages. The voice it conveys is well understood, sounds with enough power and dynamics, but at the same time it is not very suitable for listening to music because there are few high and deep, but the middle range is strong. I know you can rightly ask why I mention listening to music, the reason for that is that the manufacturer also mentions it, and the usage, the function of the buttons, also suggests that we can use it for that as well.

During use, I encountered one thing that was less disturbing to me, and that was that the earpiece says the caller's number in Chinese when it comes to an incoming call or message. The female voice is very charming, Far Eastern who loves it will come in, it is another matter that the average Hungarian will not understand anything of it. Unfortunately, no English language firmware was found and the sound cannot be turned off.

Finally, let’s turn to one more thing, wear. As I mentioned above, we find a small hanger on the ear pads. Well, it's not a hanger, but a prop inside the ear. The size of the pillows is the same here, the difference in size is only in these outriggers, we can use one or the other depending on how big our earcups are.

The Xiaomi Mi LYEJ02LM headset is so light that once you insert it into your ear, you essentially forget about it. Thanks to the support, it doesn’t touch our faces either, so it really happened that it only occurred to me that it was in my ear when the ringing melody sounded on an incoming call.

Summary

I ordered the Xiaomi Mi LYEJ02LM earpiece because I was curious about the quality of such a device in the company’s offerings. To answer the question in the introduction that there may be too much of the good, I can say the following:

If I don’t count Chinese messages, then the Xiaomi Mi LYEJ02LM is a perfect, impeccable Bluetooth headset. The sound quality and volume are absolutely fine, and the handling is easy. For me, the capacity of the built-in battery was adequate, I would call myself an average user. The noise filtering of the microphone was perfectly adequate according to my partners, it didn’t matter if I was standing on the street or sitting in the back, they could hear me perfectly.

One of the most important points when using such a device is comfort. If the tab is too heavy or just pushing the tab, we’ll put it down and then we’ll just notice you’ve stayed at home in the drawer. The Xiaomi Mi LYEJ02LM is not like that. It sits perfectly in your ear, the silicone pillows are comfortable and due to the support you get in several sizes, there probably won’t be many people on the floor who couldn’t use it comfortably.
