It is still not entirely clear whether Xiaomi will introduce one or two phones.

We are waiting for the Xiaomi Mi 7, the Xiaomi Mi 8 is coming

Last week, we read for the first time in the foreign press that the company will also launch a phone called Mi 8 in honor of its eighth birthday. In recent days, we’ve been able to read a lot of rumors that are more than impossible, but we still don’t know if the Mi 7 and Mi 8 will be two different phones, or skipping the 7, Xiaomi will present the new device as eight right away.

We already know basically everything about the Xiaomi Mi 7 hardware, but only a few seemingly certain data has been leaked about the Mi 8. The display, for example, is based on OLED technology and will be 6,01 inches in size. There are two types of memory and storage layouts, 6/64 GB or 8/128 GB. In addition, it is rumored that the fingerprint reader will be placed under the front glass, and that the phone will receive a 3D face scanner similar to the iPhone.

According to recent news, the price is also known already, according to which $ 440 will be the cheaper and 500 the more expensive version. Recently, Xiaomi’s phone flood is starting to look a bit chaotic, as in February, when the new top phone was supposed to debut, we got the wrinkled version of the Mi MIX 2, the 2S, and then came a pretty incomprehensible phone, the Redmi S2, which has a big selfie, powerful but it didn’t get a very fresh Snapdragon processor, 3GB of memory, and 32GB of storage, but it ran alongside just an HD display. It’s not really clear if they wanted to break this new phone into the tried-and-tested handset, the Redmi and Note series.

The current turmoil is also a bit incomprehensible, as it’s almost certain that the Mi 7 - if at all - and the Mi 8 will get the same central unit, the Snapdragon 845. The display will be similar in size to the memory and storage layout, meaning that at first it doesn’t seem to be much of a difference between the two phones. Is it possible that one comes with a notch display similar to the iPhone X and the other comes with a traditional one?

There are a lot of questions and it is suspicious that we will not be smarter until the presentation on May 31st, we will grow with a few more rumors at most.
