Vandal-proof network camera from Axis

Axis has launched a new rotatable, tiltable and zoom vandal-proof network camera.

"Thanks to the combination of many unique features and a durable housing, the AXIS 212 PTZ-V not only meets, but also exceeds the market demand for cost-effective and protective surveillance solutions," said Anders Laurin, Vice President of Axis Communications. "With the help of AXIS 212 PTZ-V, the areas where the angle of view of traditional PTZ cameras can only be changed to a limited extent can be observed."

The AXIS 212 PTZ-V metal frame and durable, transparent cover provide excellent protection against vandals. Thus, it is ideal for monitoring interiors such as schools, shops, banks and reception areas where there is a risk of damage, but at the same time the entire area needs to be monitored. With the instant PTZ feature, suspicious events can be tracked quickly and accurately.

AXIS 212 PTZ-V includes a 3-megapixel image sensor and wide-angle lens, so close-up images can be enjoyed in the same high quality, VGA resolution (640x480) as overview shots. Since it has no moving parts, the camera can instantly and noiselessly switch between full wide angle and maximum zoom, tilt or pan. Thanks to the "Power over Ethernet" function, the network camera's power supply and data transmission are provided by the same cable, making installation of the device quick and easy.

In addition to IPv4, the camera also supports IPv6, thus providing protection against the problem of future depletion of IPv4 addresses. It also includes a number of features related to device management and network security, such as multiple user access levels, HTTPS encryption, IEEE 802.1X, and IP address filtering to help you securely manage and configure your videos.
