Introductory
Again, a machine I bought for a long time. Not now, sometime in November when Banggood came out on offer. Many times I ask my outside contact what he would recommend, so far everything has come in, I’ll shoot the joke, that too!
I already wrote the article then, but since I knew the machine would arrive at the Czech warehouse in the spring, I left the pre-Christmas dumping and put the finished article away. It's here now, you can read it!
What does the UWANT B100-E promise?
The UWANT B100-E is an upholstery cleaner. There are many of these, for me the primary consideration was size. Of course, it doesn't matter how effective it is, but I didn't want a big upholstery cleaner, but one that fits in the back corner of the closet or the bottom of a closet.
Well, the UWANT B100-E is perfect in this respect, as it is only 39.00 x 39.00 x 41.30 cm in size and has a dry weight of less than 5 pounds. That is, if I don’t use it, I won’t go through it all the time and I won’t have to get around it either in the apartment or in the garage.
Despite their small size, engineers have made the most of every cubic centimeter, with a suction power of 12 Pa and a clean water tank of 000 liters and dirty 1,8 liters of dirty water. The machine is plugged in, but the cable is on a cable reel inside the machine, so it is wound up at the touch of a button after use.
Although the machine is plugged in, we are not yet plugged in, at least not tightly. The mains cable is not less than 5 meters long (I don't really understand that it can fit even in the small housing), to which is added the approx. a one and a half meter suction pipe, so we can move away from the outlet if needed.
The machine promises nothing extra anyway, just the ability to clean upholstered furniture, remove dried stains, be it coffee, tea or anything else. About how successful I am in this I will write a little later (we’ve tried it properly over the last few months), but let’s look at the look and feel first!
Exterior and use
I've already talked about the dimensions of the machine. In addition to the machine, the box includes a suction tube, a tube holder that snaps onto the back of the machine, a brush at the end of the suction tube, a measuring cup for cleaning supplies, and a cloth bag to hold the accessories in. Yeah, and of course the two water tanks are here, but let's consider them an integral part of the machine!
The beauty of the UWANT B100-E is debatable. I find it more practical than particularly beautiful, a bit of the old, almost forgotten Chinese kitten coming back to us because of the gold inserts. So, let’s stick to the fact that it’s not a masterpiece, but at least it works well.
On both sides, the water tanks can be snapped out, as everyone thinks before filling, one is filled with clean water, and after the cleaning, the dirty gun is poured out of the other. I dare not call this water anymore, I am afraid of being offended and will attack me next time.
The mains cable can be unplugged from the back of the machine, the suction pipe will also live here, as long as it can be wound on the holder (it cannot be because it is long). From the front, at the bottom of the large gold U pattern, the black insert is a touch-sensitive display, here we can turn it on and off and change the suction strengths. We have two degrees, the smaller one is 8 Pa, the larger one, as I have already written is 000 Pa.
The warm air leaves on the lower grille, we also find castors at the bottom, on which we can tow the machine.
Easy to use. Fill the fresh water tank to the maximum mark, if you want you can add a detergent, but choose one that does not foam.
Turn on the machine, select the strength on the touch panel. Then place the brush attached to the end of the suction tube on the surface to be cleaned, press the trigger on it to start spraying water on the surface to be cleaned.
The brush can be used to rub the surface and the machine will immediately suck up the dirt. I don't think it's anything extra, but that's exactly what's in it. I'll explain that!
Experiences
You don't expect much from an upholstery cleaner. At least I didn't expect much. You don't need wifi, Bluetooth, smart features, phone control, because you're there, next to the machine, you're grabbing the suction head while you're using it. So there would be no point in a timer or a map function like at a robotic vacuum cleaner.
However, we obviously expect the upholstery to be cleaned perfectly!
Well, based on the marketing material, I expected more, I’m not disappointed yet! The basic problem there is that based on the pictures, we can assume that the spots that have dried for many, many years will disappear completely. Well, they won't disappear. Or that’s what it is, but for example, from the cover of a very old little sponge mattress, the cat’s stain that had been soaked for about 8 years didn’t want to go away.
Obviously we don’t sleep on this, so it doesn’t cause a problem, but because of the test, this patch just came in handy. The good news is that this was the only one that proved problematic!
Anyone who hasn’t read a test from me yet will tell me that I am the father of two four-year-old boys. Right now, two four-year-olds can do amazing things. Although they cannot be colored e.g. on the couch, somehow you always get a crayon or a little tempera on it. Interestingly, a thousand and one things can dry in the carpet in the same way. So maybe you already understand why I had to buy the machine.
Honestly, I didn’t protest much because my hump was already full of them being regulars at the upholstery and carpet cleaning aunt. It’s one thing to have to run there (you obviously have to drive there, otherwise you can’t take the big carpets from the bass), but for days there was no cover on the couch, no carpet in the rooms, and icing on the cake, that was a small fortune per month for cleaning .
We had to start something with this problem, and we did!
On the first day, we emptied the sofas, the mattresses for the boys ’beds, and all the carpets, far exceeding the plan. When I say that an unimaginable amount of dirt came out of the carpets, I was still cautious. Of course, the furniture wasn't so dirty, there was more crayon, which was a task.
There was no problem with the “base” stains on the upholstery, there was also some food here and there (I don’t know how it gets on the couch when they don’t even eat there in principle). What I saw a miracle, however, was cleaning the carpets.
This is why all the carpets were finally removed, as my couple told me after the first one. Teeeee it got better than what the carpet cleaner aunt produces! - and then he couldn't stop, he had to try on the living room carpet, the hallway treadmill, the long-haired IKEA carpet, but even the inner doormat leading to the garden.
So the carpet in the apartment did not stay dry!
As for, say, beef, we took the guys to ovi, then came the carpet cleaning, and by the time we went after lunch, the carpet in the nursery had dried. So, we didn’t even have to have fun with it to dry it, leaving the bone dry on the floor.
However, it is safe to know that the amount of water sprayed in the cleaning brush cannot be controlled. When you press the button comes, when you release it stops. So it must be done with common sense so that we do not over-water the carpet unnecessarily!
So we were perfectly happy with the cleaning skills, there are two things that could have been a little better. One is that there is no water level sensor in the dirt tank. There is a float which, if the water level in the tank is high, blocks the path to the engine, but this float is not lifted by the foam of the cleaning agent, so the foam can get into the engine. So while cleaning you sometimes have to look at how full the tank is.
The other is that the machine is not nearly as stable during pulling as e.g. a vacuum cleaner. We can pull on the rollers behind us, but care must be taken not to tip over. Luckily, it's not a vacuum cleaner to tow all over the apartment, but on larger carpets, it can be tightened with a suction tube.
I have no other objection.
Evaluation
The UWANT B100-E is not a cheap machine. It’s not full of chilly-wild extra features, it’s not lit with RGB LEDs, we can’t connect it to our phone, so it looks a bit Stone Age with a lot of smart machines. However, as I have indicated above, any cleverness would be completely unnecessary.
Instead of the extras, we get something completely different, infinite practicality!
It fits in a small space. Apart from the many years of stains, it cleans everything perfectly (e.g. crayons from the white carpet, I love it), mud, food stains, and everything we expect from it. The use needs to be practiced a bit, at least in terms of how much water we spray on the upholstery or carpet, but that’s not a problem.
What I haven’t talked about above is cleaning after cleaning, and that’s not a problem either. The suction head can be taken to pieces, washed in a matter of seconds, and you will need it. It is perhaps obvious that we do not leave clean or dirty water in the machine after cleaning, especially the latter.
We’ve achieved our goal with it since we’ve got it and we’ve been using it loosely to bring back the price by not going to clean upholstery and carpet. I'm not even talking about the fact that the machine has been surrounded by the parts of the family that live close to us, so if we look at it that way, we produced the price of at least two, two and a half machines, or rather saved it.
I'm not even talking about saving a complete car cleaning and upholstery cleaning, not even two forints lately.
Who do I recommend the UWANT B100 to?
Of course for those who will take advantage. If I had to take it out once a year, I wouldn't spend 60 forints on it, I would be better off with the carpet cleaner aunt.
If you have a child, especially a smaller child in the family, you will buy the machine for many years and it will be well worth it. If you live in a garden house where mud gets into the dirt house more easily, it will be worth it. If you take a taxi and want to clean yourself the car will be worth it. I won't explain it further.
So in one sentence. The UWANT B100-E does not promise much, it only cleans upholstery and carpets. He doesn’t dazzle with the extras, he just fights the spots with honor, and what’s important, if the mission isn’t impossible, he defeats them. For impossible missions, you also need to take a Tom Cruise with your plane!
