New WD Black HDDs are coming
Western Digital comes out with new, updated WD Black hard drives. The drives will be available in 1-, 2-, 3- and 4TB capacities.
Upgraded copies of the WD black series have already received the new HRC (High Resolution Controller), which the manufacturer says reduces the chance of data loss. VCT (Vibration Control Technology) and CPT '(Corruption Protection Technology) technology have also been developed to prevent data loss due to physical shocks and power outages. Surprisingly, mass storage communicates over the SATA 6.0 Gbps interface. Their internal temporary memory is 64 MB and the disks spin at 7200 RPM. The new WD Black drives will be unveiled on November 15th, and prices will be available at that time as well.
