Pioneer came up with a 2.0 (S-MM301) and a 2.1 (S-MM751RU) speaker system designed for personal computers.
The S-MM301, reminiscent of old times, is made primarily for laptops, with a metal grille that protects the membranes for portability. It is connected to the machines via USB, it also receives the energy needed for operation from here, but at least we don't have to carry a separate network cable. It's true that it soon turns out that it's not made for hollow ears, but it sounds much more powerful, better than most tiny speakers are capable of, and because of its small size, it fits in the bag next to the machine. The controls also use a well-proven method for mobile devices, ie you can adjust the volume not with a potentiometer, but with the plus / minus / mute buttons. Priced at $ 49.
However, Pioneer's desktop system promises to be much more interesting. Behind the special design resides a total of 40 Watts of power, of which the subwoofer accounts for 20 Watts and the speakers 10 Watts each. The "subwoofer" - according to the manufacturer's promises - provides an even richer, better sound thanks to the MAXX Bass Dynamic Sound technology. The set comes with a wired remote control in the shape of a hockey puck, with which, in addition to the volume control, you can also control the playback (stop, play, etc.). Also, if you want to listen to music without turning on the PC, you can play MP10/WMA content using the SD card reader or the USB port. Both products are now available in the US, with the S-MM3RU priced at $751.
