On the way to the cheap double core

In addition to its latest 6 × 1 serial “Cedar Mill” core processors, Intel has also announced its customers with the smallest clocked dual-core CPU for customers with tighter wallets.

The Pentium D, or “Different” 805 model, will be available on February 2,66 with a core frequency of 2 GHz and a 1 × 12 MB L200 cache. Thanks to the manufacturer's product launch campaign, the expected commercial price can be put below $ 41 (approx. HUF 500) at the time of launch, which may be very sympathetic to users who like overdrive at first. The bad news for them, however, is that the core is not made with the newer 65-nanometer technology, but with the older 90-nanometer technology - which certainly has no good effect on heat production.

ton of cheap double core

Nevertheless, the emergence of a new product can be of great significance; it could hopefully force AMD, now known for its rather expensive components, to cut prices, or at least release processors in a similar category.
