Huawei will increase its orders to MediaTek by more than 300 percent
The base is low, but still important news is Huawei’s growing interest.
Huawei has had a relationship with the number two mobile chip maker so far, but the volume of orders has been quite low. The clear reason for this is that Huawei has long preferred its own Kirin tiles. However, the situation has changed greatly as a result of US sanctions. It is known that Huawei got into a messy situation not only because of the well-known Android problem, but also because the hardware of its phones consisted largely of elements that fell under embargo.
However, MediaTek is a Chinese company, so the partnership can benefit both parties. According to the news, Huawei is not only interested in MediaTek, but also in other manufacturers, such as Foxconn. The latter company has already indicated that it will be able to meet the emerging needs, and MediaTek is still investigating whether they will be able to meet Huawei's needs, if any, and what capacity increase will be required.
