Striking for life strapa phone, here is the Vernee V2 Pro

Active people also use phones, but it doesn’t matter what. They need a device that doesn’t get soaked, broken, that is, available in all conditions, be it a rafting trip, rock climbing or a job where tasks are waiting outside the desk, but outdoors. In the case of Vernee, this phone is not without precedent, we already got a similar mobile phone last year. As with the current device, it is striking that it does not look like a rugged phone at all, it has even become a particularly showy piece. But not only do we get good from the outside, there’s no problem with the hardware either.

The Vernee V2 Pro has got strong hardware. The central unit is the Mediatek Helio P23, which is a relatively recent development, we could only really meet it on mobile from the beginning of 2018. In the central chip, which is made at a bandwidth of 16 nanometers, we find an eight-core processor in which the cores work in two groups. The energy-saving cluster has four Cortex-A53 cores with a maximum clock speed of 1,5 GHz, while the second group, which is focused on performance, also has four Cortex-A53s, but they can already operate at up to 2 GHz. Vernee engineers spared neither memory nor storage. The former is based on 6GB of LPDDR4X, the latter is based on 64GB of eMMC 5.1. Of course, the graphics accelerator, which is an ARM Mali-G71 MP2 GPU with two cores and a 700 MHz clock, could not be left out either.

Among the main hardware components, it is worth listing the display capabilities. It is an IPS based panel that works with FHD + resolution i.e. 2160 x 1080 pixels. The display has a screen diameter of 5,99 inches and an aspect ratio of the trendy 18: 9. We can’t complain about the capabilities of the panel, as it has a color depth of 24 bits, which specifically allows it to display 16 million colors. Importantly, with this image size and resolution, the pixel density is 403 ppi, resulting in a sharp, visible image. Nowadays, it is important that the frames of phones are as thin as possible and that the ratio of front panel to display is as high as possible. Unfortunately, with hard phones, this is difficult to do, as if the frame is too thin, the display will break more easily if you drop the phone. Vernee’s engineers have performed well in this regard as well, as although we’re talking about a rugged phone, the front panel occupies 81,3 percent of the panel, which is a pretty acceptable value not only for rugged phones but also for normal handsets.

Let the cameras follow. Now there are not two, not three, but four cameras working on the phone. This is not a problem, in fact, as we can take very good pictures while hiking or extreme sports, if there is anything. And in the case of the Vernee V2 Pro, you'll have an 8 + 5 megapixel solution under the f / 2.8 lens. At the back, of course, a more powerful 16 + 5 megapixel combo has been built in, which also has a better aperture value, exactly f / 2.0. In addition to the cameras, we also get a dual-LED flash back to be able to take acceptable shots even in low light conditions. Highlights of the camera's software capabilities include autofocus, continuous shooting, optical image stabilization, panorama and HDR.

In the field of radios, perhaps the most important thing is that since the central unit is quite fresh, the new CAT7 modem has already been included, so we won't have a problem using high-speed mobilnet. Of course, we will also receive support for the B20 800 MHz LTE band used at home, so where we have LTE mobilnet in Hungary, we will be able to use it there. Anyway, of course we get everything, n-channel dual channel wifi and 4.2 Bluetooth are waiting for us. We get GPS and GLONASS support for navigation. It is also important to point out, as an extra, that the phone also includes NFC technology. What was missing was the battery, which became specifically a combo. No less than 6200 mAh of capacity has been packed into the phone, which should be sufficient for up to 3-4 days without recharging under normal use. The battery also got a quick charge function, which allows us to charge the battery from zero in two and a half hours.

We discussed the hardware, let’s see what makes the Vernee V2 Pro a rugged phone. The case has a reinforced frame and a thick rubber pad at the corners. This is beneficial because we know that phones like to fall on their heels, in which case the display is most likely to break. According to the manufacturer, the rubberization makes the phone about 40 percent more resistant compared to a traditional device, so we can say that we get quite effective protection against screen breakage. This is even helped by Gorilla Glass. Another great achievement of durable phones is their dust and water resistance. The Vernee V2 Pro is IP68 certified, which keeps it up to a water depth of one and a half meters. For operation, manufacturers also specify a temperature range from to which we can use the phone. This has become quite wide for the Vernee V2 Pro, from minus degrees up to plus sixty degrees there should be no problem making phone calls. An extra extra is the built-in gyroscope and compass something with pedometer capability.

As you can see, the Vernee V2 Pro has become a pretty special phone, so we could expect the price to skyrocket as well. Of course not, although the mobile is not cheap, but compared to what it can really does not cost much. The original price is $ 300, from which we now get a $ 50 discount during the introductory campaign, so we can buy it for $ 250, which results in a price below 70 forints even at the current dollar exchange rate.
