Based on the paper form, this model combines the most modern technologies with a very comfortable design to satisfy the needs of both casual users and audiophile enthusiasts. Of course, I'll be curious about the latter, but we'll see!
It is certain that if the description is to be believed, the BlitzWolf BW-V49 OWS will hold its own in many areas of use. It can be an ideal choice for those who regularly do sports or go to the gym, because thanks to the IPX5 water resistance rating, it can withstand sweat and light rain. It may be suitable for business users, who may appreciate the noise-canceling technology that ensures high-quality calls, while music lovers will enjoy the surround sound and hopefully clear, detailed sound.
Comfort is said to be one of the most remarkable features of the product. The designers put a lot of emphasis on making the headphones comfortable to wear for long hours. Double-layered medical-grade silicone contact points and ergonomic design combine to ensure that the user hardly notices that they are wearing the earphones. Well, I'll try this too, because it would be cool if it didn't bother me while riding my bike, especially if I also hear the noises of the street.
These sound very good so far, but the paper can handle a lot, I'll be curious to see at what level these many good capabilities have been translated into reality at the relatively low price!
Before I write the experiences chapter, of course I have to try out the headphones, but true to my good habit, I'm basically getting to know it together with you. I'm only going to unfold it now, as I finish this sentence, so here comes the exterior!

At first glance, the BlitzWolf BW-V49 OWS earphones are quite strange compared to traditional earplug solutions. The OWS (Open Wear Style) design requires a conspicuous design, as the earphones do not completely close the ear when worn, allowing partial detection of ambient sounds. This design is not only beneficial from the point of view of safety, but it is also more comfortable during long-term wear, as it reduces the pressure felt in the ear canal.
I just recently read a study about the harmful effects of headphones and high volume. These earphones are said to damage the small cilia-like hair cells in the inner ear more than average. Let's say it's not just them, the speakers too, it's no coincidence that many rock musicians become deaf before their time. The real problem is that these hair cells can't regenerate, so once they're damaged, they stay that way. In the case of the BlitzWolf BW-V49, there is a good chance that this problem will not occur, or at least it will occur much less often.
In any case, the ergonomic design of the earphones is remarkable even for a layman. According to the description, the ear hooks made of flexible titanium wire ensure that the earphones stay firmly in place even during intense movement. We'll see about that! The contact points of the earphones actually have silicone covers, which, as I already wrote, are double-layered and supposedly of medical quality.
In terms of dimensions, the BlitzWolf BW-V49 OWS is quite compact and lightweight. The exact dimensions are: 66,71 mm x 66,28 mm x 28,97 mm, it's not really big, but it's still much bigger than a brain punch. The combined weight of the earphones and the charging case is only 67,6 grams, so it won't tear your pocket apart.
As usual, the controls are located on the surface of the earphones, which act as a touch-sensitive panel. They can be used to control music playback, accept or reject calls, and activate the voice assistant. The user guide provides detailed information about the exact control options, it is worth looking through it to quickly learn how to use it.
The charging case of the BlitzWolf BW-V49 is also quite compact, and I think it's also quite elegant, of course it looks like we're not talking about a gadget costing tens of thousands of forints. There is an LED charge indicator on the front of the case that shows the battery charge level. On the back of the case, at the bottom, is the USB-C connector, through which we can charge the device. Don't forget, the case is naturally magnetic, so the earbuds snap into place and don't want to fall out.
If I call the case elegant, then I can't use such an adjective for the sight when I open the case. Perhaps futuristic or artistic would be appropriate. As the curves of the ear hooks cross each other, and the material of the ears themselves, they offer a truly convincing sight. I'm getting very interested in how it will look in use, because if it's as good as it looks, I'm going to love it!
So, what else about the design? There is an IPX5 water resistance rating, which makes the earphones resistant to sweat and light rain. This is a particularly useful feature for those who want to use the headphones during sports or outdoor activities. Of course, IPX5 is not enough for the earphones to be suitable for swimming or submersion, so take that into account!
Overall, I really liked the look and design of the BlitzWolf BW-V49 OWS earphones, maybe I could only forget the chrome-effect insert of the case, that's a bit much for me. I could easily imagine a shiny, black, piano varnish effect strip instead of the chrome. Well, it's tastes and slaps, isn't it, you might just like it.

Before the test, of course, I also collected the product specification, I'm going to grind it down quickly now, then the test can come!
BlitzWolf BW-V49 OWS earphones use the most modern wireless technologies. The Bluetooth 5.3 version ensures a stable and fast connection, which enables a range of up to 10 meters. This Bluetooth standard not only improves the quality of the connection, but also optimizes energy consumption, contributing to a longer battery life.
The sound quality is ensured by magnetic levitation membrane speakers. These special speakers contribute to Hi-Fi quality sound (pun intended, I'll be curious about that too), providing a particularly powerful and impressive sound experience. The frequency response ranges from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, covering the entire spectrum of human hearing.
In terms of audio encoding, the BlitzWolf BW-V49 supports AAC and SBC formats. AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) provides excellent sound quality at a lower bit rate, while SBC (Subband Coding) guarantees wide compatibility with various Bluetooth devices. There is also a Spatial Audio service, which means a special surround sound. This innovation first appeared in Apple devices, and since then, of course, many other manufacturers have adopted it. I also have headphones that, you know, really improve the quality a lot.
The battery capacity is also not bad: the earphones each have a 50 mAh battery, while the charging case has a 400 mAh capacity. This enables 5-8 hours of continuous music listening with a single charge, and the charging case allows you to recharge the earphones several times. The total charging time is only 1,5 hours, which is particularly fast in this category.
As I already wrote, the earphones have an IPX5 water resistance rating, which provides adequate protection against sweat and light rain. This makes the product suitable for sports and outdoor activities.
The BW-V49 supports HSP, HFP, A2DP and AVRCP Bluetooth profiles, which ensures seamless pairing with various devices, whether it's a phone, tablet or laptop.
Although the BlitzWolf BW-V49 OWS earphones do not come with a dedicated mobile app (which is almost a standard requirement these days), the built-in Bluetooth settings of most smartphones allow you to customize the basic functionality. The name of the device will appear in the Bluetooth settings as "V49", look for it!
The earphones are compatible with most smartphones' built-in voice assistants, such as Siri or Google Assistant. These can usually be activated by touch controls on the headset.
Overall, although the only drawback of the BlitzWolf BW-V49 OWS is that it does not have its own dedicated application, the built-in functions of smartphones, such as tone control and the like, will be sufficient for use, at least I hope so!
Experiences
During the hands-on testing of the BlitzWolf BW-V49 OWS earphones, I was curious about two things. One is comfort, the other, of course, is sound quality. Thirdly, there is also Spatail Audio, which caught my attention when choosing the product!
Well, I have no complaints about the comfort, not one bit. I was a little afraid that it wouldn't work well with glasses because of the hook design, since the stem of the glasses sits on top of the hook. Fortunately, it was a pleasant disappointment that I don't even notice when wearing the glasses that the ear hooks are underneath.
The earbud is really light, the hook is just tight enough to keep it from falling off my ear, but not at all tight. Of course, maybe I'm just lucky and they were made for my ear size, but I still don't think so. In any case, my experience is that the earphones can be worn comfortably for long hours without causing pressure or discomfort in the ears.
The OWS (Open Wear Style) design has proven to be particularly useful for outdoor use. One of the big advantages of headphones is that you can properly perceive ambient sounds, but of course this is only true if you don't turn up the volume. This headphone does not have an advanced transparent mode, that is, there is no software help to allow the sounds of the environment to reach our ears. Let's say this is more necessary with the brain drums, because they can completely block out the noise coming from the outside.
So the bottom line is that the BlitzWolf BW-V49 is better at letting in noise than traditional solutions, but this is greatly influenced by how loud we listen to the music. There are no miracles, loud music excludes all other sounds.
In terms of sound quality, the BlitzWolf BW-V49 OWS did not disappoint. Magnetically levitated diaphragm speakers can truly reproduce CD-quality, lossless sound. at least I didn't notice any difference, but of course it's still true that a decent pair of Hi-Fi loudspeakers will swallow this earphone crosswise in terms of quality. So don't expect miracles here.
At the same time, the sound of the BlitzWolf BW-V49 is really surprisingly clear. There are no annoying jumps in any sound range, the sound system is very pleasantly tuned. It is also a fact that because of this I cannot say that it is particularly good, e.g. for rock or classical music, it's more like an all-consuming tool.
The bass is relatively strong and deep, the midrange is really rich in detail, while the highs are clear and here and there I hear some ringing from the sound of the cymbals. This balanced sound allows us to enjoy virtually any genre of music.
The BlitzWolf BW-V49 has intelligent noise filtering technology, which should not be confused with e.g. with the transparency mode, which is responsible for letting in noise on headphones where the ear canal is completely blocked. The noise filter is used to ensure that, if possible, only your voice reaches the interlocutor's ears out of the sounds that reach the microphone during a phone call, and nothing else.
Well, I tried using the phone while riding my bike, the person on the other end said that he could hear some rustling, so I'm not sitting in the same room at all, but nevertheless, my voice came through his phone well, clearly and intelligibly. In other words, the wind noise essentially disappeared, but my voice remained! Unfortunately, there is no subway in Zalaegerszeg, and I don't travel by plane too much within the city (nor outside), so I can't report any experiences in this regard.
But what I have to highlight is Bluetooth! People, forget the 10 meter range! We have a two-story house, the office is upstairs, my phone is on my desk by the wall farthest from the door. I went downstairs, walked around the apartment, went into every room, but the music didn't stop, the connection didn't break. But here, from one room to another, it's not 10 meters of open space, but about 20 meters across the floors. Brutally good!
Battery performance also meets expectations. The operating time of 5 hours is definitely there, I haven't reached 8 hours yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if that works too.
Well, the Spatial Audio function could provide an impressive experience, especially when watching movies and playing games, but it doesn't. I don't feel the spatial effect. As I wrote, I have another headset that knows this, but it is, to put it bluntly, a gyroscope. It detects when I turn my head, and it depends on that, that is, on turning my head, where the sound is coming from. Moreover, it is so intelligent that when I turn a corner on the street, it does not take it as a turn of the head, then the direction of the sound turns with me. But I didn't experience anything similar with the BlitzWolf BW-V49.
Well, with the BlitzWolf BW-V49, I find no trace of that feeling or effect. Nothing. Here, the sound always comes from one direction, directly. The quality of the sound improves a lot because the instruments do not sound like a dense mass, but can be clearly separated, moreover, if the recording is like that, I can clearly hear the boom of the bass guitar from the left, the drums from the middle, and the lead guitar to my right.
Conclusion
Overall, the BlitzWolf BW-V49 OWS earphones are a remarkable product that successfully combines modern technology with a user-friendly design. I didn't write this sentence, I found it in the press material. Most of what is written seems to be true.
The fact is that I have no complaints about the sound quality, I have no complaints about the comfort, Bluetooth 5.3 is really sensational. Among the weaknesses of the BlitzWolf BW-V49, I can mention two things. One is that I would sometimes require a little more volume, even if it damages my hearing, and the other is Spatial Audio, which was only mentioned in the press material, but I don't think it is in the earphones. In other words, I didn't manage to discover it, which I'm a little sorry for.
At the same time, the OWS (Open Wear Style) design and the excellent sound quality together resulted in a versatile and enjoyable audio device, which will be perfect for the intended task, i.e. listening to music while cycling or, God forbid, making calls.
Since the BlitzWolf BW-V49 is first and foremost a headphone developed for sports, it is particularly suitable for those who value good sound but do not want to be completely disconnected from their surroundings. This feature, combined with the IPX5 water resistance rating, makes the product particularly attractive to athletes and those with an active lifestyle.
Well, I think I've written everything I wanted. My final assessment is that it is worth the price, I don't mind the wooden bats I spent on it, only this lack of Spatial Audio makes my mouth go down a little, but not much, just a little at the tip of the mouth.
