Viruses do a lot of damage

Half of Hungarian Internet users have already had to reinstall their computers due to a virus infection, and a quarter have lost data due to Internet malware. It would be a good idea to use an antivirus that comes with real product support, but most people regret the money for that. 

According to a joint survey by ESET Hungary and the NRC, almost two million Hungarian Internet users have had to reinstall their computer at least once due to a virus or other malware. The 18-29 age group cares least about security, with 63% of young users already reinstalling their operating system due to a virus infection and 26% losing data.

Regarding the results of the survey, ESET, an expert in anti-virus systems, points out that there is no perfect anti-virus software that can detect every single malware, which is why it is important to entrust the protection of your machine with full product support.

"The anti-virus company must be able to detect and neutralize pests with special tools in case of 99% of possible infections, and then clean the computers without data loss," emphasizes Péter Béres, senior IT consultant at ESET.

Product support for security software is not yet common in Hungary, several manufacturers only provide e-mail support, and free antivirus software often does not even come with this.
