Speaking at CES, the SD Association reported the latest SD card format, SDXC.

The SDXC (Secure Digital eXtended Capacity) standard will be available to manufacturers in the first quarter of this year, so it will certainly only be a matter of months before the new card format is implemented as an affordable product. True to its name, the SD Association has made the biggest progress in data storage, with SDXC memory cards ranging in capacity from 32GB to 2TB. For this reason, loading the Microsoft exFAT file system used for the new format requires a higher data transfer rate, which will be 104 MB / s for the first copies, but later models with a speed of 300 MB / s will also arrive.

SDXC - another memory card format on the horizon

The 2 TB memory card can store about 100 HD videos or up to 136 high-definition image files, according to the SD Association. By the way, in addition to SDXC, the microSDXC standard has also been announced.
