Pretec: 4 GB MMC card

This card is already based on the MMC 4.0 standard, which makes it possible to create cards of up to 2 TB. The new memory card is also a speed recorder; 266× speed. The current maximum speed of the MMC 3.0 standard on the market is 2,5 MB/s (16×) — 12,5 MB/s (83×) for SDs — but with the fourth version of MMC we can reach up to 52 MB/s (346×), compared to SD 1.1's "modest" 25 MB/s (166×). The 4GB card is now available from selected distributors for only US$700; mass production will start in the fourth quarter of this year.
