Check out the vacuum cleaner in action in our video test:
Introductory
I have told you many times that in most of my tests you may come across products that I buy for myself because I like / need them / a lot of them can be sold. However, there are products - unfortunately less often than I would like - that are warmed to me by the manufacturer or distributor.
These products are rarely interesting, they don’t sell very well, but due to the good relationship, I take the test. In this article, as many of you probably already guess, I will introduce you to such a product.
Every article has a lesson, it will, but come dry data and unpacking first!
Packing, unpacking, accessories
The box of the vacuum cleaner is trustworthy, but nothing extra. There are no nice color pictures, but the material is good, which is also shown by the fact that the transport did not leave a trace on it.
Inside we are greeted by order, the parts and accessories are nicely separated, all packed separately. I still like it!
But I really start to like it when I take out the accessories in a row. Impeccable plastics, no burrs like it, the assembly is first class. The metal tube is also thick, the electrical connectors are very well made. So far better than I expected!
There are also some accessories.
We get a very good looking, very well put together suction tube. We get a suction cup, we get a smaller brush head, e.g. for a bookshelf, maybe for vacuuming the car. There is a motorized suction head for upholstered furniture and there is a large floor suction head that is also motorized. The package also includes a wall mount, a battery, a charger and the base unit itself.
So far everything seems surprisingly good, that's not exactly what I expected!
Here, at the end of the chapter, I have to mention one more thing. After the test, I looked at the machine a little more closely and found that the manufacturer had even one of the most prestigious design awards with the vacuum cleaner. This is reddot. But to make sure that wasn't enough, in addition to the German reddot, they also collected the IDEA Design Award, which also deals with design in the United States. After such an antecedent, I no longer admire that I like it too.
Paper form and knowledge
Of course, I got a press release from the machine, which I ran through and put down quickly, because in addition to some really important technical specifications, only a few data that seemed like bullshits were listed.
The point:
The vacuum cleaner weighs 1700 grams, which is good. I also had a much heavier and much lighter machine. What’s more interesting is that this good weight is accompanied by an exceptionally good 150 AW suction power. Together, the two figures are eloquent, since it's not an art to get good suction from a basic heavy machine, but it is from an easy one.
I note here in parentheses that the manufacturer emphasizes the good weight distribution of the machine, which is useful because it does not put unnecessary strain on our wrists.
The suction force can be adjusted in 3 steps anyway, there is no automatic mode (I will return to this in the experience). The battery is home to seven cells with a capacity of 2500 mAh. It can be charged from zero to 3 percent in 100 hours. The capacity of the dust container is 0,5 liters.
The manufacturer has described that the machine employs a 5-layer filter system to keep the exhaust air completely dust-free.
- On the first level, a technology called single-step cyclone separation separates the larger contaminants. This cyclone technology essentially means accelerating and circulating the incoming air, thereby being able to separate the air, dust and larger dirt.
- The second stage is a stainless steel filter designed to filter out contaminants larger than 0,4 microns.
- The third is another, but already multi-stage, cyclone separation that separates 0,4 microns less contaminants from the air.
- The fourth is a pre-filter in front of the engine, which traps between 0,4 and 0,3 microns of dirt.
- And the fifth is another filter, on which dust particles below 0,3 microns can get stuck.
With these five layers, the air escaping from the vacuum cleaner is made essentially completely dust-free, i.e. in fact about 99 percent.
With regard to filtration, the manufacturer also points out that the built-in multilayer cyclone separation was able to perform the filtration tasks without compromising the suction power and noise level required by EU standards.
The mite head is supposed to have a new motor, which I can neither refute nor confirm, it is the first vacuum cleaner from the manufacturer that came to me. At the same time, the new engine and new cylinder brush promise a 99,9 percent mite removal rate, which is probably not just 100 percent to keep them from burning.
I add myself (as an allergy) that in addition to mites and their feces, these heads also do a very good job of removing dust, fungal spores, pollen, and other allergens.
Finally, two more things that already seem useful based on the description!
The first is a patented process that prevents hairs, hairs, or e.g. fallen fringes of carpet. Honestly, I’ve read about such an innovation several times, it would be nice to have it, but so far I haven’t found a solution that works really well.
The other thing is the simplified dust container emptying. According to the description, the tank can be emptied at the touch of a button, so we don't get our hands dirty, NO BACILUS! I'm sorry, I had to highlight this because it's supposed to be very important!
So this is the paper form, but what is a vacuum cleaner like in reality?
Experiences
As I wrote above, I got a nice press pack, that is, a description of the things I NEED TO HIGHLIGHT IN THE ARTICLE!
Honestly, I really hate this! I don’t like it when they want to take my leave and tell me what’s important and what’s not. Plus, as I started reading the text, the bullshit alarm went on in my head and it was screaming so loud I couldn’t understand what I was reading.
They were described in it as better than the Xiaomi G10, albeit a little more expensive. Better than Dyson and much cheaper. Better than the Dreame T20 and much better haircut technology. AND anyway, haircut technology does everything no one knows.
Well, it usually starts to stink here for me when I have to compare it to the Xiaomi, and it's a little more expensive than that, but BETTER!
So when I started unpacking the machine, it started to fall off that what was described might not even be completely unreal!
I’m not saying I haven’t come across a material quality like this machine yet, but at Xiaomin, it’s available somewhere over $ 500. I’m just mentioning such little things that the suction tube and brushes snap together with a very finely working lock. The aluminum pipe section of the suction pipe has a very serious wall thickness. And anyway, everything is impeccable.
After that, I picked up the base machine a little more curiously.
I didn't find much of this interesting. It’s just as flawless as the accessories. The battery doesn't need a bit as I take it off or slide it into place. The dust container can be easily detached and the internal filter can be removed in the same way. And one-button emptying also works, though not 100 percent, but it works.
That is, I press the button on the top of the machine, the tank swivels out of place on a hinge, the bottom of the dust tank opens, and the dirt falls into the trash. Of course, this requires opening the bin over the trash.
Of course, if there is a lot of dirt left in the tank, you will need to remove the filter to remove it, as with all other similar vacuum cleaners. But your grandmother is really trashed.
When I first turned on the machine, my couple came over, looked at it curiously, and then asked what was wrong with that. I didn’t understand the question, I asked back why would it be wrong?
The answer was that he had a strange voice. That is strangely quiet. Are you sure there's nothing wrong?
Of course not. It’s just really quiet, much quieter than my own, rather expensive Xiaomi Jimmy vacuum cleaner. Not much quieter, much quieter. In other words, I dare say that the part of what has been described in the press that the noise has not increased with good dust separation is not true.
And now the haircut, the roller brush that makes this machine better than any other machine!
I’m not ashamed, I didn’t believe it worked for a moment, and then because of the experience, I felt like I was getting a big allergy. It worked.
This is the usual stupidity again. I tell everyone not to want to classify a product based on paper format. Look for tests, articles, real information, without it you shouldn't buy anything anymore. What happens to this, I do not follow my own advice. I didn’t even think the haircut really worked because like I wrote, I haven’t found a single machine so far where it really worked.
The secret of the thing is simple, yet brilliant, I don’t even understand why others don’t apply it. On the one hand, the roller brush contains several bristles. There is a softer part to the hard floor and there are quite hard little tufts of bristles for the carpets. And there is the hair clipper!
The latter is nothing more than a metal sheet hidden between two comb-shaped rubber edges. That is, exactly two metal sheets that can slide on top of each other. The comb-shaped rubber introduces the hairs to the metal sheets, which then actually cut them. If I want to liken it to something, I can also mention the haircut part of razors to ladies and gentlemen. There, too, two sheets of combed metal slide over each other and cut the hair and hair. Well, this is exactly the solution that works in this vacuum cleaner or in the vacuum brush cylinder.
Practice shows that during roughly a week of the test - while I was really using the vacuum cleaner - I never had to deal with curled hairs.
The Shunzao Z11 Max hair clipper solution works with 99 percent efficiency instead of 100 percent.
I would add, my partner’s hair is long, so this is a live problem with our own stationary vacuum cleaner and robotic vacuum cleaner as well.
I wrote above that the machine does not have an automatic mode. I basically felt this was a problem until I only knew the technical specification. The situation is that in the past, for vacuum cleaners that did not have an automatic mode, the operating time was reduced to a few minutes if the suction power was set to the maximum. However, there was only a maximum suction power that was really usable, meaning we were forced to maximize it. So it was quite a suction, since approx. The battery reached zero in 3-4 minutes.
The automatic mode has helped in this way by always using the optimal suction power to increase the operating time many times over, while also being satisfied with the quality of the cleaning.
So, the Shunzao Z11 Max does not have automatic suction power selection. This could be a serious problem if the suction power of the machine (or perhaps the very good roller brush) is not enough even at the lowest gear. Luckily enough, the medium is really impeccable, so I only had to use the maximum suction power for the sake of the test. The truth is, at most, this machine won’t last long.
So the automatic suction power would be good, but in this case not much water is disturbed by its lack.
One more thing by the end. For newer stationary vacuum cleaners, something big is almost expected. The Shunzao Z11 Max has this on the side of the machine. It’s good to have, we see the magnitude of the suction power, we see the battery charge, so the more important data is there. It could have been done on a smaller scale, but after all, so don’t cry if something not only works well functionally, it looks good too!
Summary
So, this article has a lesson, more. One is that even I don’t have to judge by the paper form, because reality can really cut the experienced tester in the face, and sometimes vigorously. Of course, if this slap snaps because I underestimated something, that’s the better case and the Shunzao Z11 Max is the case.
I thought the big sucker was the usual suction power and the multi-layered dirt separation with little noise, but it had to turn out that the thing really worked.
I thought the hair clipper system was a huge sham, with which the manufacturer wanted to justify everything, even washing Dyson off the track. The thing is, the hair clipper “system,” that is, the roller brush filled with a metal insert, really works flawlessly, so much so that I haven’t had to clean the brush in a matter of weeks.
There is one thing that has become true, and I am sorry it has happened, and that is the price. Unfortunately, we’re really talking about Xiaomi’s price, though we shouldn’t keep up with the fact that we’re getting high-end material usage for the price of a mid-range Xiaomi, so the Shunzao Z11 Max has plenty to earn next to its big brother. In fact, it is no exaggeration to say that it was not only me who received that particular scarf (for my disbelief), but also Xiaomi for the sake of quality. Now I look forward to the sequel, the next Shunzao vacuum cleaner, I hope I get it!
And in the end, remember: IN ADDITION, THE HAIRCUTTING “SYSTEM” REALLY WORKS AND MAKES IT ALL! 🙂
