The Nokia logo warms my heart, but is that enough to succeed?

Introductory

Anyone who used to use a Nokia product knew pretty much what to expect from the manufacturer. Crazy innovations and indestructible phones alternated in the portfolio. We loved the company because it always surprised us with something new and interesting.

Then came the bankruptcy. Microsoft has come. Android mobiles have come, but this Nokia, it was no longer Nokia. The magic is over and has not returned since. This is sad only because this charm, for me, has not been evoked by any other phone manufacturer since then.

We can say the dust of peace. However, the brand name remained here with us, we get this and that from the manufacturer, such as a Bluetooth headset.

Nokia has asked RichGo to help create the tab that is being tested. RichGo is a well-known audio accessories company licensed from Nokia. With the Nokia E3511, the company has tried to cover most of the market, with keywords like active noise reduction, composite membrane and the like on the box.

In this test, I will try to show you this tab, and then you can decide if the Nokia brand is enough for success, for quality.

Packaging and exterior

Hold the box in a good hand. It's a Nokia feeling. The graphics, the design, and of course the font all evoke old times. True, in those old days, phones were sold in such large boxes (well, a little bigger sometimes, if you even remember how much money can fit in a Nokia box), now we get a tab in it.

No less than 5 coats of sponge are waiting for us in the box. The first is glued to the cover, the other four are stacked on top of each other, they hide the earphones, the docking box, the cable, the silicone plugs and the description. It's a pretty weird solution, but it's not a big deal after all.

What makes us much more interested in what the product itself is like. It is also worth talking about the filling box and the earpiece!

The storage / filling box has been completely covered with metal, which means that we get quality stuff here on first receipt. The Nokia inscription on the roof is laser engraved. Inside, of course, we already find black plastic, but that's not a problem. In the area between the earphones, there is a reset button, a USB Type-C connector on the side opposite the hinge (i.e. front), with a small LED above it.

The design of the box is beautiful, convincing, the materials are good, the hinge works precisely, we are good so far!

There's no problem with the earpiece itself, but don't be ashamed to say (if Nokia isn't ashamed anymore) that it's a rock-hard Apple AirPods tap. Not a little, very much! Of course, there are minor style notes referring to the manufacturer, not to mention the Nokia label, but I would have expected a little creativity.

Of course, since the shape of the AirPods is good, the Nokia E3511 has also been good, so with that design you could at least be sure. The part that gets in our ears is not only excellent in shape, it is also amazingly low in weight, so it is a perfect choice in this respect as well.

So we can say about the ear, that although it is a pretty cheeky tap, it is more of an expected, especially comfortable wear!

Let's see what the little one knows!

Paper form

As I wrote above, there are quite a few call words in the product specification that we can be sure of. Let's see what they are!

The air is moved 1-1 to XNUMX millimeters per side by a membrane made of composite materials. This is a pretty normal size, so the sound quality is expected to be good.

We get active noise reduction, the factory data mentions a value of -28 dB, which is human! This should be enough if we are walking on a noisy street or if we are sitting on an even noisier public transport.

Automatic EQ when making a call to hear the voice of the other party in the best possible quality. Sounds good, though it looks pretty bullshit dumb. Actually, no matter what name they put on the technology, the point is to make it work!

What is not bullshit at all, however, is the uptime. For this, the term wow slips out of the number. The earpiece itself can operate for 6 and a half hours on a single charge, but if we add the charging capacity of the storage box, we are already operating at 25 hours of operation. Well, I love that!

You are not connected to your phone via a Bluetooth 5.0 connection, here you can find 5.2! We will be rewarded with a delay converging to zero, a concrete-stable relationship, as promised. I hope so!

Automatic pairing and a headset mode. Yes, these are almost mandatory skills. In other words, you don't have to connect the two sides anymore, go for it yourself, and yes, the basic thing is that it is not obligatory to use both sides, the headset mode is already available. These are here.

The control of the ear works, of course, via a touch-sensitive interface, but this is also common.

That's about it, the experience can come!

Experiences

I'll shoot the joke ahead, even if the Nokia E3511 wasn't a big disappointment, I don't dare say good.

Let's start with the phone call. The sound quality I heard was good, the microphone also worked well, at least I could hear it well. Which, on the other hand, was not too steep for ANC, i.e. active noise reduction. The weather was pretty windy towards us in the last few days so I was able to try it out sharply, but the ANC had just muffled the sound of the wind.

I wouldn’t say it’s useless, but I think it’s a little little in this price range this year.

The earphones weren't too good for listening to music either. True, as I have said / written several times, these heads and earphones are not able to convey all kinds of styles properly. To do this, we do not have to look for one, but rather for a price range three times higher.

However, the Nokia E3511 sounded pretty tight even in comparison. The first Led Zeppelin classic, Stairways to heaven, was brought down in such quality that I was looking for the state. This is not the case with other songs.

For electronic music, I chose one of my favorites, the Solaris Chronicle of Mars, but it sounded rather blunt. Although the earpiece was supposed to produce full depths, I couldn’t discover them, just as the bell-tall ones were just tall, they didn’t want to ring.

Rock is forgetful. Motorhead, Metallica, AC / DC inaudible, Guns still leaving. Dire Straits, built on a strong vocal voice, was quite acceptable.

Although I’m not a jazz fan, Ray Charles is one of my favorites, but he doesn’t want to listen to him on Nokia either.

All in all, the only strength I dare say is the mid-range, everything that sticks out of it, whether down or up is very medium only. Also, I almost always had the feeling that the numbers would sound through some textile. Everything was veiled and a little blurry. The layers of instruments and music were not separated properly.

That is to say, very little music sounds good on this ear. What is not is not unenjoyable either, maybe it was just the Zeppelin I put at first that set the bar too high.

Summary

The Nokia E3511 promises a lot, but it only partially fulfills its promises. Among the negatives I have to mention the performance in the music and the sound attenuation that seems weak to me, while the strengths are the extremely comfortable wear and the very long operating time of up to 25 hours, as well as the quality of the physical workmanship.

Among the positives, Bluetooth 5.2 should be singled out, which has resulted in a truly concrete connection. There was not a single rupture or uncertainty in the relationship, and the delay essentially ceased to exist.

I would like to thank the Wiibuying webshop for the opportunity to test again! Although I dare to recommend this ear for a bit of the price of $ 62 and $ 4 duty-free delivery, so for a total of $ 66, the store is all the more a reliable company, and in some places the prices and promotions are very good. So look around them!
