CES isn’t the terrain for average products, so we shouldn’t really be surprised by this curved display (1800R) monster. Practice, however, shows something different, the Legion Y3840w, which operates at 1200 × 44 pixels, caught our attention strongly. The main specifications of the ultra-wide monitor can be summarized as follows:

  • 99% sRGB / Rec.709 and DCI-P3 color space coverage;
  • maximum brightness 450 cd / m2 (HDR 400 support);
  • 144 Hz image refresh rate;
  • 4 millisecond response time (gray-to-gray);
  • detachable Harman Kardon speakers;
  • FreeSync 2 support.

In the field of ports we can report on this:

  • 2 × HDMI 2.0 and a DisplayPort 1.4;
  • USB 3.1 Type-C (Gen2) and USB 3.1 Type-C (Gen1);
  • 4 × USB 3.0;
  • audio output.

The beast can be raised, tilted and rotated, which is sure to come in handy when placed on our table. This may happen in April at the earliest, by which time it will be decided that the Legion Y44w will be simply expensive, or rather the insanely expensive token will take its place.
