No, this will not be the MITU already available, but another special piece.

Artificial intelligence helps Xiaomi’s new drone

Xiaomi is best known for its phones, but nowadays we can find their names on almost every type of product. Just a few weeks ago, they introduced their absolute entry-level drone called MITU, and I wondered in the news about whether this new drone, now the second from Xiaom, would be the arrival of a new drone family or not a sequel.

Well, it seems to have become, and the structure now introduced, called iDol, has become quite special. The shape is not new, the flat, foldable, substantially rectangular structure can be seen in many manufacturers. What makes it special, though, is that the news is that Xiaomi wants to do the best selfish drone possible, using some artificial intelligence to do so. The new flying structure is designed for those who don’t want to deal with controlling the drone. With plenty of sensors like GPS, barometer, and various optical sensors, the machine will be able to track us - probably in several different ways - while taking video or shooting photos of us without us having anything to do with it.

The capabilities of the machine will be modest compared to a professional drone, this is only due to the structure. We probably aren't mistaken in assuming that we'll be able to control our phone via WiFi, and we don't think the range is too long, just give it a few tens or maybe 1-2 hundred meters. What we already know for sure, though, is that the built-in camera will capture 1080p videos at 30 frames per second, and the stream to our phone will be 720p. The machine will measure 226 x 144 x 48 millimeters and weigh 360 grams, which means it will be really lightweight. with the built-in battery, which has a capacity of 1800 mAh, we can fly for ten minutes on a single charge. Price and time of the official presentation are not yet known.
