Of course, it is arguable that the maximum engine power of 250 watts is appropriate or whether the upper limit of 25 kilometers per hour should have been limited, but I think these are still acceptable values. The problem is rather that the regulations in other countries and continents are not so strict, so manufacturers are forced to produce bikes for the EU market that are different from the global versions.
Let’s just say the truth is that these EU-compatible bikes / scooters have only just begun to spread, so Xiaomi, for example, has just launched the HIMO Z20 MAX and HIMO L2 MAX.
The Z20 MAX is essentially the same as the previous Z20, the L2 MAX is the L2. The engine was still 250 watts, the upper limit of the boost was 25 kilometers per hour, so you didn't have to reach for it. In the case of the Z20 MAX, however, we no longer find a throttle lever. The motor, the battery and the controller all meet the requirements of the EU, for which the manufacturer has also received the appropriate certificate. The lamps already have this mark and the bell also complies with the ISO 14878 Class II standard.
In the case of the L2 MAX roller, the difference is that there is of course a throttle lever (since there is no pedal) and the engine is 350 watts according to the expected regulations.
So, all in all, the whole bike has become EU compliant in every taste and ability!
