Introductory

I have rarely written about monitors in recent years. I don't know how good or bad this is, I used to consider myself a real monitor guru. However, technology develops so quickly that after a gap of 2-3 years, you almost have to learn everything again. Let's say not in the case of the KTC H27P22S, because it is still based on an IPS panel, but I will write about this and the specification a little later.

The KTC H27P22S became interesting to me for two reasons. One is that they ask for little compared to the 4K resolution and the countless capabilities promised, and the other is that I had to realize that the 1080p KTC I chose as the second monitor is not enough for my work. In other words, the lower resolution next to the large 32-inch 4K display was rather confusing.

You know, you could drag the mouse from one monitor to another, but it doesn't work because it gets stuck at the edge of the display due to the different display resolutions. It was extremely annoying.

So I started looking for 4K displays. I didn't want a second 32-inch one, it wouldn't fit on my desk, so I stayed with the 27-inch one. I didn't want either curved or ultrawide. You need it for work, to cut videos, write articles, edit pictures, but not in graphic quality, only for articles on the Internet.

Of course, I didn't end up with a work monitor, but like the previous KTC, a gamer display, but who cares about that, if I know what I need anyway.

This article will show you what a KTC H27P22S, whether I can use it, and I will also make an interesting statement at the end of the article, which you can agree with or not. It will be your business to argue with me if you feel I am wrong.

Let's get into the groove!

Unpacking, assembly, exterior

The packaging of the KTC H27P22S is KTC, simple, nothing extra, no colorful box, cardboard, simple, with one color printing. As I've written several times, this part leaves me cold, I only look at the box until I take out what's inside, after that the dog doesn't care what the graphics are like. Well, right!

Kipróbáltuk: KTC H27P22S 4K gamer monitor Kínából megéri? 3

It's fairly thick inside, but maybe not quite thick enough for Nike. The shock protection around my monitor split in several places, although the monitor was not damaged. So it would be better if it didn't break with the nike, but it protected the KTC H27P22S anyway.

The display itself comes in three parts. The base, the stand and the display itself. I like the sole, it's the right size, and the design is true. This doesn't move me either, I'll work on it, at least I can collect my memory cards on the sole, they won't slide off it.

The stand is more interesting. There is no problem with knowledge, since the The KTC H27P22S stand can be tilted (from -5 degrees to 20 degrees), rotated (45 degrees in both directions) and raised (up to a height of 130 millimeters). The fact that the display itself can be turned to a vertical position is just icing on the cake, which rarely comes in handy for work, but never for dinner.

What is strange, apart from this vertical translation, is the plastic insert on the leg. I think this pink (magenta?) insert is unbelievably ugly, I don't really understand how it was possible to choose this color. Maybe the designer looked at the Barbie the night before and it burned into his brain, and then he didn't think of anything else. Let's say this is the biggest problem with the monitor!

Let's see the display!

From the front, until we turn it on, it seems that the frame is very thin on three sides. In other words, it doesn't just look like the plastic frame is really thin. It's not too wide at the bottom, maybe 1,2 cm. If we turn on the display, it is immediately apparent that the image on the panel does not reach the frame, there is a 7-8 millimeter black band. This is the case with most similar monitors. Unfortunately.

I was very pleased with the joystick control for the KTC H27P22S. This is on the right side of the display, at the back. Right-handed people preferred! I really hate the buttons on the bottom edge of the display, especially if they are touch sensitive. If I'm looking for something on the table, I accidentally turn off the monitor. Unfortunately, my larger display is like this.

KTC H27P22S - Joystick

This joystick is a great invention, because on the one hand it is very easy to navigate through the menu, and on the other hand there is only one button, and you can't touch it by accident either.

A discreet KTC emblem shines in the middle of the lower frame, and the small blue LED indicating the on status is on the right side. This can be turned off from the menu anyway, so it won't bother you in the dark when playing.

They wanted to create some gamer design on the back of the KTC H27P22S, which turned out to be so mediocre. I don't have a problem with the lightning bolt notch itself, but rather with the plastic that makes up the back of the monitor in general. Sprőd, something not very expensive perceptibly. Let's say its thickness is at least okay.

KTC H27P22S

KTC H27P22S – cable guide

Somehow I never understood this back cover design, i.e. its significance. When I use the monitor, I can't see the back. If there are a lot of edges, cuts, etc., dust settles on them and it is more difficult to clean. So approx. I consider it as important as what the monitor box looks like. If I'm alone with this opinion, I'm sorry, feel free to argue with me!

In the case of the KTC H27P22S, the exterior is not bad overall, except for the strangely colored insert. Because of the stand, it can be tilted, turned, and lifted lavishly, it will be a great work monitor for me, from this gamer miracle!

I haven't written about one thing yet, the connectors, but this extends a bit to the specification anyway, so it's okay to leave it at the end of the chapter.

From left to right, there are the following buttons:

  • Power
  • 2 x HDMI 2.1
  • 2 x DisplayPort 1.4
  • 3,5 mm jack (headphones)

Specification

Please, the KTC H27P22S is a gamer monitor, the given data will reflect this. Not the grossly large, but rather only among the larger pieces, as it is 27 inches. This is a livable size. The resolution is 4K, i.e. 3840 x 2160 pixels, the display is based on an IPS panel. To be precise, Fast IPS panel, which is fast based on its name. This is reflected in the 1 ms (MPRT) response time and the 160 Hz update. The backlight of the panel is ELED, i.e. plain LED, which is placed under the frame.

8 bit+Hi_FRC is also interesting with the display of 1,07 billion colors, and the existence of HDR400 is not surprising either. So, there are no problems with the colors and the speed, but the 400 nit brightness is also a nice value. Oops, I almost forgot, the coverage of the sRGB color space is 132%, which should not be left behind among the data related to colors. Well, I'll also copy the additional scene data here, in case someone wants it for graphic work and these data are important to them:

  • 95% NTSC,
  • 99% Adobe RGB CIE1976,
  • 97,5% DCI-P3,
  • 132% sRGB

Please, what else? Of course, there is AMD FreeSync Premium, G-Sync compatibility, low blue light support, 178-degree viewing angle, and more. Did I mention that the KTC H27P22S is a gamer monitor? I know, I said…

We ran through this quickly, the review is coming!

Experiences

I don't know what you think about KTC as a brand, for now I like it. I currently have 3 KTC monitors, although one of them, which was in the place of the current test, is already boxed. So I now have two monitors, one of which is more than a year old. So I already had some confidence.

I note that the manufacturing company did not start the production of monitors today, but the company can be measured in decades, I have a feeling that they also make displays under other brands. The fact is that KTC as a brand is not very old, maybe before last year, I first came across the name in the period before Christmas. but, as you can feel, it is not the brand name that matters here, but the manufacturer behind the brand name.

I have no complaints about the exterior, at least not in terms of services. The quality of the assembly is also good, there are no split joints, no cracks, no crunches, so basically the stuff is good. As I indicated above, the quality of the plastics is nowhere near premium, and the design is also pretty stupid. I think so.

There is also a predecessor model of the KTC H27P22S, which still had a 2K resolution. There were LEDs that "breathed" under the large lightning bolts on the back panel. The thing is, I don't see any point in the extra design of the back panel, because I never look at it, but I would see the point in the LED, because it lights up the wall behind the monitor, and it gives a little extra atmosphere while playing. Well, the design has been preserved on this newer monitor, but the LEDs have not been installed. Hooray…

Well, this should be our biggest problem, and I'll shoot the joke now, there won't be any other mistakes!

KTC H27P22S

KTC H27P22S - PIVOT mode

There are zero problems with the monitor's moveability and adjustability, there is even a PIVOT mode. Let's say I'm not a big gamer, so it could easily be there, but I don't know what.

What is the display image like?

I like IPS panels. Obviously it won't be an OLED, but the IPS isn't bad at all. Of course, the brightness is not completely uniform due to the background lighting. At the same time, there is no serious clouding or spotting, and the unevenness of the backlight of the KTC H27P22S is less noticeable to the naked eye than in the pictures below.

I won't lie, I didn't buy it for play, but for work, so I can mostly share my experiences with you. The colors are clearly better than on my main monitor, which is now a rather old 32-inch Philips with a VA panel. I like that too, but my eyes now prefer KTC. I tried to bring the two monitors to the same level, and I almost succeeded, but it is still noticeable that the blacks of the KTC are blacker, the colors are more vivid and fuller.

Kipróbáltuk: KTC H27P22S 4K gamer monitor Kínából megéri? 12Kipróbáltuk: KTC H27P22S 4K gamer monitor Kínából megéri? 13Kipróbáltuk: KTC H27P22S 4K gamer monitor Kínából megéri? 14

There are no problems with the viewing angles either, but the 178 degrees given is clearly exaggerated. It is true that this is the value specified for IPS panels, the colors do not shift too much, but the brightness drops quite drastically from a sharp angle, so the picture will no longer be enjoyable from there. But, as I wrote, this is typical of all IPS monitors, in this respect the KTC H27P22S is neither better nor worse than any average IPS.

I am unable to match the colors displayed on the VA panel and the IPS panel, so there is some difference. I would like to note that if I only look at the paper form, it is already visible on the scene coverage that there is some difi. I tried to count the 1,07 billion colors, failed. Well, I didn't actually try.

At the end, one more sentence and three pictures from the menu. I don't want to write about it because it's unnecessary. Twenty years ago, an OSD menu was still a big deal, today it would be if it didn't exist. Unfortunately, he doesn't speak Hungarian, but I don't think this will cause anyone a problem. Easy to use with the joystick, sufficiently simple and transparent. That's it.

Summary

Currently, the KTC H27P22S is my second monitor, which I use so that when making videos the process does not go on the larger monitor, and sometimes I edit images on it. To be honest, I don't really use some of its abilities, but I feel that at the price I bought it for it would have been stupid to leave it there.

Kipróbáltuk: KTC H27P22S 4K gamer monitor Kínából megéri? 18

If you want to buy a monitor with this capability at home, then (according to the search engine) I should pay a price between 207 and 000 forints. And the KTC H285P000S monitor costs 27 forints, which is a difference of 22 in the best case. I'm not even writing the worst case.

Returning to the beginning of the article and the statement mentioned there, I can say (write):

The fact is that for this much money at home I get a completely average office monitor with an IPS panel. No HDR, no brightness, no color depth, nothing. So maybe the knowledge is a bit much for the work I use it for, but since I also use it for graphic work on a basic level, it is not unimportant that it knows what it knows.

For this reason, and because I am not the enemy of my wallet, a gamer monitor is perfectly suitable for work, as it offers more in terms of capabilities than a traditional office piece, so I dare to say that if the gamer design of the back panel does not bother you, then feel free to buy it for such a purpose. .

I don't know if it's worth it for you. Of course, there is some risk due to the warranty of the KTC H27P22S, but I am well aware that in the case of monitors, the domestic warranty is not worth much even in the case of moderately severe pixel defects (the defects are not in one group), perhaps it only makes sense if the display is completely dead.

For me, the HUF 60 price advantage clearly placed the monitor in the worthy category. Purchase a TECH27YT coupon code 151 730 Ft for HUF from the link below, of course delivered from an EU warehouse:
