The ADO A20F has been renewed this year, not a little!

Yesterday, the distributor called my attention to the fact that the ADO A20F, the new Fat bike, is worth checking out. I laughed and asked him what makes the A20F new when I tested it 2 years ago? He replied that it was not the A20F, but the A20F Beast! In other words, the A20F bestia (beast) in Hungarian!

Well, I took a closer look at the Beast, and it turned out that the manufacturer had made serious changes at several points, which improved its judgment quite a bit in my eyes. We don't just get a modest crease stitch, there's much more, much better.

The motor is 250 watts, but the peak torque is 500 watts, but this does not represent a major change compared to its predecessor. Rather, the A20F received ADO's new electrical system, which means two major changes compared to the predecessor model.

One is the ADO application, which has been/will be available on only one ADO bike so far, on this year's other novelty, the Air. This means a unit that communicates via a Bluetooth connection built into the bike, and of course the phone application, through which the data can be queried. In addition, the app will also be suitable for navigation and for locking or unlocking the bike remotely (I think this means turning the assistance on and off, not a physical lock).

Another interesting thing is that the pedal sensor is now a thing of the past, the A20F Beast also got a torque sensor, which was only available on high-end bikes until now. Torque-sensing bikes represent the top class these days, here the motor doesn't turn on depending on whether you turn the pedal or not. When we start to turn the pedal, we get assistance almost immediately, and the amount of this assistance changes dynamically depending on how much force we have to turn. The greater the effort we invest, the greater the amount of assistance.

It doesn't belong to the electric system, but I think it's a serious development that we can finally forget the single-cylinder squealing disc brakes, the Beast now has hydraulic brakes, which means a very serious change in terms of comfort and safety.

It is clear that ADo strives towards a higher category. Cheap but still usable bikes are becoming less and less part of the portfolio. The sign of the change was started by the appearance of the D300 series, which I visited last year, this year the ultra-light Air came, and now the Beast is here, but I suspect that we will also get the A20, the fair bike, with new technical content.

Unfortunately, higher quality also results in a higher price. The A20F Beast is a Now HUF 606 with coupon code GKBADOBEAST, although this price also includes a second battery pack, which is not a small value. So one of my eyes is crying, the other is laughing, because ADo, which I really like, now competes in a stronger category, at not bad prices!
