Introduction: Is the Fynzo S11 the two-wheeled revolution?

To be honest, when I was asked to test it, I had my doubts. I didn't really understand how a scooter with a 1100-watt motor and a capacity of nearly 800 Ah could be made for barely 100 forints. The Fynzo S11 boasts these figures, which, if true, could start a real revolution. Well, not in terms of quality, because I don't have high hopes in this area. But if we can only achieve that for the price of a stick scooter, we get usable shock absorption, a reasonable range, and power that doesn't let us down on medium climbs, then we can't lose.

In today's market, a decent electric scooter can no longer be a (seriously) compromise solution when it comes to everyday survival in the city. Customers (and myself) are looking for vehicles that are reliable, can withstand being crushed, and won't fall apart at the first domestic pothole or cobblestone street. Manufacturers have had to respond to this demand, so a category may slowly emerge that is no longer about 350-watt toys, nor about 6000-watt, life-threatening asphalt shredders, but simply about pure, raw practicality.

In this market situation, Fynzo has positioned itself extremely cleverly. While they may not have decades of automotive heritage, they have accurately assessed what a commuter needs. They did not want to invent an unnecessarily overcomplicated, gimmicky concept; instead, they took proven raw materials, a solid steel frame, and built a machine around it that puts power and ride comfort at the center. If it weren't for the 25 kilos (which is impossible due to the battery), I would dare to say that the stick has been sacrificed to roller skates.

The structure of the Fynzo S11

Before we get into the driving characteristics, it's worth taking a close look at what you get for your money, because unboxing the Fynzo S11 is already a bit of a workout. The gross weight of the packaging is 29,2 kilograms, which suggests that no effort was spared. In the box, in addition to the carefully secured electric scooter, we find a user manual, a standard BC042546020A 54.6V 2A charger, with which we can pump the battery full in about 8 hours, and three Allen keys (in sizes 2.5, 3 and 4 mm) for quick assembly. It's a nice and rare consideration on the part of the manufacturer that they also packed a pair of gloves in the box for assembly and use, and here are the three NFC cards that will be used during startup.

The device itself is a 25-kilogram steel-frame (STL) construction. This weight clearly comes at the expense of portability, climbing stairs and underpasses requires serious logistics and muscle work, but once we reach the asphalt, this weight guarantees the unobstructed stability that is the basis of safe urban transportation. When opened, with its dimensions of 1170 × 675 × 1330 mm, it is not a giant, but still a commanding phenomenon. When folded (1170 × 675 × 515 mm), it can be placed in the trunk of a more spacious car or taken on the train.

One of the most important keys to comfort is the design of the footrest. The Fynzo S11 has a suitably, but not excessively wide, 520 × 185 mm steel deck. This size allows for a natural, stable posture, so that even during a longer tour, even approaching the maximum range, leg and waist fatigue can be significantly reduced. The top of the floor plate is 230 mm from the ground, while the ground clearance (measured from the bottom of the plate) is 150 mm, which is more than enough to prevent the bottom of the machine from getting caught on higher curbs. There is also a dedicated seat mounting point at the back, so anyone who wants to can use it while sitting with a retrofit accessory.

Looking up, the 675-millimeter-wide handlebar is located at a height of 1300 millimeters from the ground. The handlebar height is not adjustable, but in my experience this position is a great fit for the recommended body height of 150-200 centimeters. However, the 2-meter height is a bit excessive, so I would recommend it for people up to 190 centimeters. The controls are positioned so that all functions can be accessed blindly, without distracting you from the traffic.
There have been no compromises in terms of wheels and braking system, at least compared to stick scooters, as we get a solution that is absolutely tuned for the city. The 10 × 2,5-inch, tubeless tires already absorb a lot of road imperfections (the optimal tire pressure is between 44-50 PSI) and significantly reduce the chance of a puncture. All this is complemented by a front telescopic fork and a rear double-sided swingarm shock absorber with adjustable spring. Stopping is ensured by 140-millimeter outer diameter mechanical disc brakes at the front and rear, which are supported by the E-ABS system. The scooter, which has an IP54 dust and splash resistance rating, has a powerful LED headlight at the front, and safe lane changes are completed by two integrated turn signals and a rear light that also functions as a brake light.

This will be the paper version, a brief overview of what the manufacturer says in the specifications. Of course, reality often overrides the raw data, but let's be optimistic when we look under the hood and into the technical data.
The Fynzo S11 boasts impressive numbers for its class. The heart of the system is the 1100 W Max Power electric motor based on a 48V architecture, which can unleash a surprisingly high maximum torque of 26 Nm to the rear wheel. This torque promises to make city bridges and steeper overpasses no obstacle.
The power supply is provided by a 48V 15.6Ah battery pack hidden under our feet. This means an energy density of 748.8 Wh (Power Capacity) to be precise, which according to the manufacturer's measurements allows for a maximum range of up to 60 kilometers under ideal conditions (75 kg load, 15 km/h constant speed, 20-25°C temperature). The battery is of course equipped with all the necessary intelligent protection systems.
The speed limits are extremely flexible, as they are managed as n. In the default state, the machine is limited to 10, 15, and 20 km/h levels (Eco/Sport/Race), in accordance with the legislation. However, by activating the unlocked profile, the limits are pushed: in Eco mode, 20 km/h, in Sport mode, 33 km/h, while in Race mode, the already excessive top speed of 45 km/h becomes available. In addition, there is a dedicated 3 km/h Walk Mode for crowded pedestrian zones.
In terms of the braking system, the dual (front and rear) 140 mm mechanical disc brakes are complemented by a software-tunable E-ABS system. The scooter's load capacity has been maximized at 130 kg, which, together with the 25 kg curb weight, shows the rigidity and quality of the frame. Although, contrary to modern trends, there is no dedicated hidden AirTag mount in the frame, NFC technology and IP54 protection bring the specification list fully into the 21st century.
Although this Fynzo S11 model does not come with a smartphone app (thank goodness, it's an unnecessary hassle anyway), what we get for control is more than enough. The control center is a round LCD display integrated with the throttle on the right side of the handlebar. After switching on, the system immediately asks for identification: this can be done by touching the NFC cards provided as an accessory, pairing our NFC-enabled phone (I'll be honest, I haven't tried this), or by entering a PIN code with the buttons on the right side (default code: 0000). This dual security system is an excellent anti-theft function, although it is only good for preventing the thief from turning on the drive, because that would still allow them to pick it up and run away with it, or let it roll away like a traditional scooter while you buy a bag of potatoes at Spar.
All important data on the Fynzo S11 display is crystal clear, exceptionally, some of this data is visible even in sunlight. At night, of course, all data is dazzlingly clear, including speed, charge, distance traveled, daily mileage, voltage, and the 3 speed modes. By pulling the right brake and pressing the minus button, you can enter the hidden menu. The letters SP appearing on the display indicate that the entry has been successful. Then, using the + button and the power button, you must enter 4 1s, which will unlock the speed lock.
I would like to note here that I still do not recommend unlocking the speed limit, you can get everywhere at 25 km/h, you will not destroy the engine and the controller in the summer heat, and you will also have a lower chance of breaking your face into pieces. I do not want to assume that you are riding a scooter without a helmet, I do not want to talk about that.
What's it really like to ride the Fynzo S11? Honest experiences
Well, my brothers in the Lord, I have to say that the Fynzo S11 is a really cool vehicle! It gives you the bare minimum. In other words, I think these should be the bare minimum these days:
- 10 inch wheel
- Suspension, shock absorption front and rear
- Normal lighting front and rear + turn signal
- A sufficiently powerful engine, but adequately limited.
Of course, the most important question is always how the electric scooter behaves on the street. I don't want to give away too much here, so don't expect me to tell you how amazing the maximum 1100 watts is, I'll leave that to the testers whose most important thing is to impress the unsuspecting buyer with everything. I'd rather say that this engine power and torque move my 95-kilo body pleasantly on flat roads and small inclines. It dies on bigger inclines, but I didn't expect anything else from it. If the incline is big, I can do tricks in an S line on surprising inclines, but that's more of a game of patience and a challenge, not scootering or transportation.
So, if I have to mention the dynamics, I'd rather do it the way I did with the previous scooters, and write that it's smooth. That is, it starts off smoothly, softly, the acceleration doesn't blow my mind, but not because it lacks power, but because the sinusoidal control, which has now become a basic requirement, means that the torque comes gradually and doesn't burst on us like a downpour that washes away everything.
The Fynzo S11's front double telescopic fork is factory-tuned to be quite stiff. It's perfect for minor road imperfections, but over a bigger pothole or root it bounces back harshly and you can feel the vibration in the steering wheel. It's fine on dirt roads and smoother gravel paths, but when you venture onto more serious terrain, the machine quickly indicates that this is a cruiser made for asphalt, not an off-road monster.
However, perhaps the best thing that can happen to a scooter (in my opinion) is to get a traditional fork instead of a C-frame. It feels completely different riding a scooter like this. The Fynzo S11 is more stable, less sensitive to steering movements and, what is very important, there is much less chance of steering shake developing with this chassis. Overall, this first shock absorber could have been worked on a little more, but at the same time, when used in the city, on normal quality roads at a normal speed of 25-30 kilometers, the structure is really good!
I love that the handlebars are relatively wide. The 72 cm handlebar width is a huge advantage when cornering, it gives you a huge leverage and stability, I never felt the “squirt” (of course, as I wrote, this is not only because of the wide handlebars) even at higher speeds. The brakes work normally. Even though we are talking about mechanical cable disc brakes, it was able to stop the 26 kg mass and me thanks to the help of the E-ABS.
As I wrote, it loves hills up to a certain point, and then it doesn't. On smaller hills it will take you up at maximum speed, but on extremely steep, extended sections it noticeably loses momentum - let's face it, it stops under you. It's also worth being realistic about the range, we can be satisfied with half the given value.
Fynzo S11: Who is it really worth it for?
After assembly and testing, I can confidently say that the Fynzo S11 is a very logically designed electric scooter with an outstanding price-performance ratio. It is not without flaws, as there is the hard front telescope, the slippery deck and the, to put it mildly, optimistic range promise, but its virtues more than offset its shortcomings.
The indexes integrated into the handlebars, the reliable brakes, and the NFC card security system are all features that are typically only found in the more expensive premium category. The power delivered by the 1000 watt motor provides adequate reserve, and the sizeable battery guarantees that the “range-para” remains an unknown concept in everyday life.
This isn't the scooter you'll want to lug up the fourth floor on foot every day, and you won't want to take the bus with it because of its wide handlebars. However, if you're looking for a reliable, robust and stable vehicle to take you on your daily commute out of the city or to quickly cut across the city, the Fynzo S11 is one of the best alternatives on the market.
