Drillpro G1 test – Would you still reach for the compressor to blow out a keyboard, or would you buy another can of compressed air? I've been leaning towards cordless air blowers for a while now, because it's much easier to grab a tool the size of a palm than to pull a hose or buy disposable cans. The Drillpro G1 However, at first glance it seems to be a more serious piece than the average mini turbo fans.

Introductory

Based on the specifications, there is something to be excited about, as the machine uses a 40 mm blade and a brushless motor that can reach speeds of up to 90,000 rpm, and is powered by a 10,000 mAh battery. It has four power levels and a separate turbo mode, and in addition, Drillpro G1 It can not only be used as a handheld blower, but can also be converted into a mini vacuum cleaner with the included dust container and filter.

We tried it: Drillpro G1 test - 90,000 rpm and even a vacuum cleaner in it 1

The box is full of different nozzles, so you can find a job for it around the computer, the car, the workshop or even an inflatable mattress. Despite the compact design, we are talking about a machine weighing about 415 grams, so it is noticeably thicker and heavier than the simplest battery-powered blowers. Of course, there is a reason for the larger handle: it accommodates the four battery cells, each with a capacity of 2500 mAh.

The question is more about how much of the spectacular numbers we feel during use. Drillpro G1 On paper, it promises a wind pressure of 550 grams, while the practical measurement in the source material gave a much more interesting result, and even when compared to a previous, smaller turbo fan, the situation was not entirely clear. Therefore, I not only looked at how hard it blows, but also what the air blower and mini vacuum cleaner functions can be used for in reality.

Drillpro G1: thicker, heavier, but there's a reason for that

A Drillpro G1 When you first hold it, it feels more solid than the smaller battery-powered blowers I've seen before. It's not something you can carry in your pocket, but it's still small enough to carry in your car, toolbox, or even a larger bag. The housing measures approximately 17 × 7 × 5 centimeters, and its weight is 415 ± 10 grams according to the documentation. The most striking part is the thick handle. This is not just for design reasons, it houses the four battery cells, each with a capacity of 2500 mAh. Together, these give the stated capacity of 10,000 mAh. Because of this, the Drillpro G1 It is heavier in the hand than a simple small turbo fan, but it does not become uncomfortable even during prolonged use.

We tried it: Drillpro G1 test - 90,000 rpm and even a vacuum cleaner in it 2

You can immediately see from the two ends of the machine that this is not a simple air blower. One side is the exhaust port and the other is the intake side. So the air flows through the entire device, and depending on which side I attach the adapters, I get an air blower or a mini vacuum cleaner. The connection is a bayonet lock. The nozzles or the dust container have to be attached to the appropriate side and then can be fixed by turning. The idea itself is good because I don't have to carry two separate devices with me, and the conversion takes a few seconds.

However, the system is not completely foolproof. The adapters come in several sizes, and it is not necessarily clear which head goes on which side when you first use it. Based on the source material, the black accessories are basically for the suction side, and the blue ones are for the blowing function.

We tried it: Drillpro G1 test - 90,000 rpm and even a vacuum cleaner in it 3

The bayonet locks are basically stable, they lock with an audible click, but there is a small ergonomic problem. Some adapters do not have a properly ribbed grip surface, so it is not easy to grip them properly when removing them. During use, I also found that if you press some suction heads too hard against the surface, the connection can jump over the locking rib. This does not make the machine unusable, but this area could have been further refined.

Comes with lots of accessories

One of the strengths of the package is that you don't just get one nozzle. The manufacturer provides five different nozzles for the Drillpro G1 In addition, it also comes with the dust collection unit required for the vacuum cleaner function, a crevice tool and a small brush, and of course the charging cable.

We tried it: Drillpro G1 test - 90,000 rpm and even a vacuum cleaner in it 4

They include a narrow crevice nozzle, which is practical for cleaning computer cases, keyboards, car vents, or various crevices. There is also a larger diameter, straight nozzle, a wider head, and an adapter that can be used to inflate, for example, a rubber mattress or other inflatable object.

As I wrote, you also get a brush head, but this is not attached to the blower, but to the suction side, to be precise, to the end of the crevice tool that can be connected to the dust container. This is mainly useful on surfaces where the dust is already stuck and the air alone does not move it easily enough. The brush loosens the dirt while the airflow sucks it in.

The vacuum cleaner function comes with a separate small dust collection container. It is made of smoke-colored, partially transparent plastic, so you can roughly see when it is starting to fill up. Inside is a small HEPA filter that tries to keep fine dust in the container. The container also has a small plastic recoil element that serves to prevent the sucked-up dirt from falling back onto the cleaned surface immediately after switching off.

The dust container is not large, of course. It is not a replacement for a traditional handheld vacuum cleaner, but is designed to pick up a few crumbs, sand, dust, hair or small dirt. If I try to vacuum up larger amounts of material, it fills up very quickly.

Display and easy operation

The digital display is located on the upper part of the handle, where our hands no longer cover it. It is used to monitor the set power levels and the battery status. The description of the user manual includes a battery indicator, which in practice means that the color of the battery pictogram changes simultaneously with the dive. Fully charged green, then blue and so on.

We tried it: Drillpro G1 test - 90,000 rpm and even a vacuum cleaner in it 7

There are two controls. One is the main switch, the other controls the fan speed. Pressing and holding the power button turns the machine on at zero speed, then using the gear selector you can switch between the four power levels.

The turbo mode works separately. I can get the maximum power by holding down the fan button (it's marked as level 5 on the display), and when I release it, the turbo stops. This is a more practical solution than accidentally running the machine at maximum power for long minutes.

That's all there is to it. In previous versions, testers wrote about an LED to illuminate the work area, but my copy definitely doesn't have any LEDs. It seems that there have been several versions of the DrillPro G1 over the years, and they differ not only in the LED, but also in the way the accessories are mounted, the number of gears, and other things, so don't believe everything you see or read in previous reviews.

Drillpro G1 specs: 400 watts and 90,000 rpm in a handheld air blower

We tried it: Drillpro G1 test - 90,000 rpm and even a vacuum cleaner in it 9

Well, let's see what's inside! Drillpro G1 Its most important component is a brushless electric motor with 40 mm blades. According to the manufacturer, the maximum speed is 90,000 rpm. The brushless design is advantageous in this category because there are no mechanically wearing carbon brushes, and this is especially important at such high speeds.

In previous tests, some readers questioned the 90-100 or even 120 thousand rpm motors. I mean, whether such things can even exist. I have to reassure everyone, this is not a typo, these motors are really capable of rotating at such speeds. Of course, mostly without load, so I can't guarantee that it will work at 90 thousand rpm with the paddle.

The documentation states 400 watts of motor power and 15 amps of operating current. The nominal voltage is 14,8 volts according to one source. What I can say for sure is that the maximum power consumed is 10 watts, which comes from a voltage of 5 volts and a current of 2 amps.

We tried it: Drillpro G1 test - 90,000 rpm and even a vacuum cleaner in it 10

It also seems certain that the power supply is provided by four 18650 lithium-ion cells. Each of these cells has a capacity of 2500 mAh, so the manufacturer gives a total capacity of 10,000 mAh. However, it is important to note that the capacity of battery cells connected in series should not be interpreted in the same way as, for example, a power bank. The source material simply states a capacity of 10,000 mAh, so I use this manufacturer's value in the article. Charging is via a USB-C connector. The documentation mentions a full charge in about 2,5 hours with fast charging. This is more convenient than a special power adapter, because I can use it with the same USB-C charger that I use for many other devices.

The maximum air speed is listed in the documentation as 40 meters/second, which corresponds to an air speed of approximately 144 kilometers/hour directly at the nozzle.

We tried it: Drillpro G1 test - 90,000 rpm and even a vacuum cleaner in it 11

The manufacturer gives 550 grams of wind pressure as a normal maximum value, and the short-term peak can be 620 grams. This of course does not mean air mass, but the force that the air jet exerts on a measuring surface. Unfortunately, I cannot measure or verify this.

What I can confirm is that I get four adjustable speeds, plus turbo mode. Another documentation section mentions ten speeds, but this is probably from an older release, mine only has 5 speeds, including turbo mode.

So the main data is:

Model: Drillpro G1

Motor: Brushless motor with 40mm blades

Maximum speed: 90,000 rpm

Battery: 4 × 2500 mAh, 18650 cells

Total capacity stated by the manufacturer: 10,000 mAh

Functions: air blowing and vacuuming

There is no application – and in this case, it is not missing.

Drillpro G1 in practice: instead of brutal numbers, let's see what it can actually do

We tried it: Drillpro G1 test - 90,000 rpm and even a vacuum cleaner in it 12

A Drillpro G1 In my case, the most important question was whether there was usable power behind the impressive specifications. 90,000 rpm looks good on a product page, but I was much more interested in whether I could blow out a keyboard with it, clean the tight spaces in my car, or use it in the workshop.

We tried it: Drillpro G1 test - 90,000 rpm and even a vacuum cleaner in it 13

First I took out the keyboard. In vacuum mode, I went between the keys with the small crevice nozzle. It didn't pick up a spectacular amount of dirt, but when I took the dust collector apart, hair, beard hair, fine dust and even small pieces of shavings ended up in the container. In other words, it was actually able to pick up what fell between the keys. Then I turned the system around and went over the keyboard as a blower. Here you could feel even more what the machine is really for. The air jet is strong, and the narrow nozzle allows you to direct it very precisely.

I also found a logical use for it in a car. For seat rails, dashboard gaps, air vents, and other hard-to-reach places, it's much easier to use such a small machine than to have to deal with a traditional vacuum cleaner and a long hose.

We tried it: Drillpro G1 test - 90,000 rpm and even a vacuum cleaner in it 14

I also tested the suction function, of course, I vacuumed rice, bread crumbs and flour with the machine. The test gave a 100 percent result, it sucked up all three “dirt”. The table was a little dusty with the flour, so I put the small brush on the end of the tube, and with that I was able to remove the remaining dust. As I may have already written, the dust container is not large, so don’t prepare for serious vacuuming, but for example. I think it will be great that if I don’t want to take the computer out to the yard to blow out the dust, I can also vacuum out the big dirt.

It also coped surprisingly well with fine sand. For example, in a car, you can use it to remove small amounts of sand that have accumulated near the seats or rubber mats. However, with larger amounts, the small dust collector will be the bottleneck again. The workshop was a much tougher test. I also vacuumed up metal shavings with it. It picked up the lighter and dry pieces, but the dirt stuck to the surface mostly remained there. This is not really the machine's fault, even a conventional vacuum cleaner cannot completely remove this dirt.

We tried it: Drillpro G1 test - 90,000 rpm and even a vacuum cleaner in it 15

There is a really clever solution to cleaning the filter, however. I take the filter out of the dust collector, set the machine to blower mode, and then blow the dust out with its own air flow. In many cases, there is no need for a separate compressed air or brush.

We tried it: Drillpro G1 test - 90,000 rpm and even a vacuum cleaner in it 16

The blower function is perhaps even more important than the vacuum. It produces a serious airflow even at medium speed, and the turbo is really powerful for a device of this size. In a workshop, for example, it is perfect for quickly blowing down a table, around machines, or a part. I don't have to turn on the big compressor, wait for it to fill the tank, and then drag the air hose all over the workshop.

However, this does not mean that I am getting a real compressed air system. The compressor uses a high-pressure, concentrated jet of air to Drillpro G1 can't reproduce it, not even close. If I had to describe it, I would rather say that I get a high-velocity and high-volume airflow. This works especially well for blowing away dust, wood chips, light metal shavings and other loose dirt.

We tried it: Drillpro G1 test - 90,000 rpm and even a vacuum cleaner in it 17

I also used it to blow leaves outdoors, although this won't be the G1's area either. Anyway, I bought a brutal blower for this purpose earlier. But, if nothing else, it can be used on a small patio, around a tent or camper, or under garden furniture. It should be kept relatively close to the ground, and of course it shouldn't be compared to a full-sized leaf blower. I also tried it to dry wet surfaces. The lower settings are particularly useful here, because they don't spray the water uncontrollably. It can also be used to blow out gaps after washing a car, dry smaller parts, or hard-to-reach places.

It has a sound, but it's not terrible. The 90,000 rpm motor is certainly not quiet. At higher speeds, it has a distinctly sharp, turbine-like sound. For short jobs, this is not particularly disturbing, but for longer workshop use, it has to be reckoned with. Compared to a large compressor, it definitely has one big advantage: when I release the button, the noise stops, I don't have to wait for the compressor to fill its air tank for minutes.

Drillpro G1 conclusion – not a mini compressor, but surprisingly versatile

A Drillpro G1 After testing it, it became clear to me that this is not a single-task gadget. Its strongest point is the blower function: it is extremely practical for cleaning keyboards, computer cases, cars, workshops, workbenches, or smaller outdoor areas.

We tried it: Drillpro G1 test - 90,000 rpm and even a vacuum cleaner in it 18

I consider the vacuum cleaner function to be a very useful extra. It works surprisingly well for dust, hair, sand, crumbs and small dry dirt, but it is not suitable for larger cleaning due to the small dust container and small filter. Regardless, during use, the Drillpro G1 I had no problems with its power, neither in suction nor blowing mode.

The larger battery, digital display, four speeds, turbo, and many accessories combine to make it a much more useful tool than a simple, single-speed hand blower.
