System structure, interior design

The interior design of the Blitzwolf BW-MPC2 is the result of thoughtful engineering. Inside the compact housing, all components have been logically placed with efficient cooling in mind. The motherboard has a unique design, made especially for this mini PC, optimizing the available narrow space.

The device's cooling system consists of two main elements: an active fan and a double heatpipe system. The heatpipes are connected directly to the processor and efficiently conduct the generated heat towards the larger cooling surface. The speed of the fan changes dynamically depending on the load and temperature, so it always maintains an optimal balance between cooling performance and noise level.

In order to expand the memory and storage space, the housing of the device can be opened without tools. The RAM is located in a standard SO-DIMM socket, which allows for later expansion or replacement, although only one socket is available due to the single-channel memory controller. The hard drive is located in a slot designed for an M.2 2280 format NVMe SSD.

Another feature of the interior layout is the careful placement of the wireless antennas. The WiFi and Bluetooth antennas are located at the appropriate points in the house, ensuring optimal signal strength in all positions. The antennas are connected directly to the wireless module integrated on the motherboard.

An external power supply unit is responsible for the power supply, but the voltage regulator and filter circuits are located inside the device, which ensure the supply voltages necessary for stable operation. The internal distribution is efficient, minimizing energy loss and heat production.

The device's I/O ports are soldered directly to the motherboard, which increases reliability. The HDMI connectors, USB ports and network interface are all properly shielded, ensuring trouble-free operation. Inside the device, the individual functional units are separated from each other by suitable shielding.

The quality of the assembly is at a professional level: the soldering is clean, the cabling is tidy, and the connectors are firmly fixed. The fastening of the internal components is vibration-resistant, which ensures long-term reliable operation even if the device is frequently moved or transported.

Practical experience

When testing the Blitzwolf BW-MPC2, I first looked at everyday office use. The device performed excellently in this role: I did not experience any hiccups during document editing, spreadsheet management, presentation creation and multi-window browsing. The 100 GHz turbo mode of the Intel N3,4 processor provided enough reserve even for more complex tasks.

When testing the multimedia capabilities, it was found that the built-in Intel UHD Graphics controller handles 4K/60Hz video playback on both HDMI outputs without any problems. Thanks to the support of hardware AV1 decoding, the load on the processor remained minimal during streaming. Even when using two monitors in parallel, there was no decrease in performance.

I got surprising results during game tests. Although this machine is not designed for gaming, less demanding titles run surprisingly well on it. CS:GO, for example, at 720p resolution and low graphics settings provided a stable performance of around 60 FPS. DOTA 2 ran at around 40 FPS with similar settings, which is borderline for a comfortable game. More serious games such as GTA V or Forza Horizon 4 only produced values around 20-30 FPS.

The temperature and noise level measurements yielded positive results. During office use, the fan is barely audible, and the processor temperature ranges between 50-60°C. Even under heavy load, the temperature did not rise above 75°C, thanks to the double heatpipe cooling solution. The fan was not disturbingly loud either, although its operation could already be clearly heard.

When testing network performance, the 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port was actually able to take advantage of the higher bandwidth, which can be especially useful when copying large files within a local network. The performance of WiFi 5 was also adequate: I measured a stable speed of 2-3 Mbps from a distance of 400-500 meters, which is more than enough for most home internet connections.

Unfortunately, the single-channel design of the memory is a noticeable limitation for certain tasks. Although the 16GB capacity alone is sufficient, bandwidth limits performance for memory-intensive applications. This was especially noticeable during image editing and video editing.

The 512 GB NVMe SSD providing storage had a sequential read speed of over 1500 MB/s, and a write speed of around 1000 MB/s. This is significantly faster than a traditional SATA SSD, and the system thus remained extremely responsive in all situations.

When measuring the energy consumption, the system did not exceed 5-6 watts at rest, 10-12 watts under average office use, and 20 watts under maximum load. This is an extremely good value, especially when you consider that an average desktop PC consumes several times this amount.
