The RipNAS series has been expanded with another member

We recently reported on a network repository called mCubed called RipNAS, but the manufacturer even surpasses its previous attempt with two new devices: the Statement series can even record our materials to an SSD.

The structure of the new devices is largely the same, a significant difference can only be found in the type of mass storage. True to the name of the Statement SSD, it includes a noiseless SSD unit, while the Statement HDD once again boasts a traditional hard drive. The latter version, of course, offers significantly more storage space, as it contains 2 pieces of storage space capable of storing 1,5 TB of data each, however, the modification operating with SSD is not ashamed of its 2 × 250 GB capacity. Also a novelty is the 43 cm wide metal casing, which is standard in the Hi-Fi segment, and which, in addition to suggesting durability and robustness, proves to be advantageous even from a cooling point of view.

The soul of the device (s) remains a dual-core Intel Atom processor that provides enough power for any potentially arising task. The system also includes 2 GB of DDR2 memory, 4 USB ports, a gigabit Ethernet network interface and a drive for receiving optical discs. The range of services has not changed either for predecessor model therefore, in addition to the direct digitization of audio discs, RipNAS also stands out as a network repository as well as a media server. The latter can perform tasks in both PC and Macintosh environments, as well as multimedia devices such as the Logitech SqueezeCenter.

The RipNAS series has been expanded with more members

The expected purchase price for members of the RipNAS Statement series is still unknown.
