Both bracelets have been given a highly sports-oriented design: a rectangular display and a silicone strap. Some differences can be discovered because while the front of the Mi Band 3 operates with rounded edges, the Honor 4 tends to believe in rigid shapes. In terms of strap, the two products are also on a separate path: Huawei uses the classic buckle system, which we believe may be more reliable than the hiding solution seen at Mi Band 3 - this is especially interesting for sports with intense movement. The great advantage of the latter is that the armband can be detached from the central unit, so that it can be easily replaced as required (metal, leather, etc.).

The Mi Band 3 looks very similar to its predecessor anyway, but its display has grown significantly: the 0,78-inch, touch-sensitive OLED display uses 128 × 80 pixels.

Honor Band 4 even bids for that, the 0,95-inch AMOLED screen is also color - while Mi Band 3 is black and white. The display of Huawei's smart bracelet is simply more vivid, more enjoyable, it can be said to be full of life, Xiaomira can't say the same thing, maybe there may be more clarity.

functions

Of course, the basic features are present in both products, we have already mentioned them once in the table above, but we will talk about them in more detail soon. With Honor 4, we can’t go without words with two really great solutions: one is the heart rate monitor (TruSeen ™ 3.0) and the other is the sleep monitor. The former offers 94,3 percent accuracy through AI technology, and the latter has been certified by the Center for Dynamical Biomarkers (DBIOM) and Harvard Medical School has been involved in its development. By the way, the sleep monitor not only records data, but can also give advice based on the information received. Presumably at these points, Mi Band 3 is at a disadvantage.

Let’s take a brief look at the features that are now really minimal requirements and, of course, have been included in the devices: step monitor, counting calories burned, receiving notifications (calls and messages), remote camera, phone finder. Obviously, both Mi Band 3 and Honor Band 4 implement these via Bluetooth, the former using version 4.1 of the standard and the latter using version 4.0.

Water resistance is also a common point (they can withstand depths of 50 meters), you can also swim with both models, the Honor Band 4 is also able to recognize this activity. In terms of battery life, the Mi Band 3 is a very strong player, as the 110 mAh battery can be squeezed for up to 20 days of availability. The big rival’s color display could probably be hungrier, we need to get here with a 14-day standby time. Of course, active heart rate measurement greatly degrades the operating time for both models, in which case the aforementioned values fall by about half.

Evaluation

It looks like the two smart bracelets fit well together because the Honor Band 4 represents a higher level in both price and quality (color display, more reliable, more accurate heart rate measurement and sleep monitoring). Planted in the language of numbers, this means we have to put down $ 39,99 for this gadget, even Mi Band 3 can already be ours for $ 25,99. The Xiaomi bracelet can also be attractive to those who want a longer runtime or are content with a simpler black and white display.
