HTPCs can be based on Biostar A68I-350 DELUXE
Biostar’s latest motherboard uses the BrazD 2.0 platform’s AMD A68 chipset, but surprisingly, the central unit acts as the E-350D APU.
The dual-core processor boasts 1,6 GHz and integrates a graphics controller called the Radeon HD 6310. The board is officially capable of handling two 1066 MHz DDR3 modules, and those who are not satisfied with the speed of the visual display can improve the situation with the PCI-Express x16 busy. Of course, not much to look forward to, as in addition to APU performance, the slot’s 4x speed is also a very limiting factor. The Biostar A68I-350 DELUXE brings the required level at most points: Gigabit Ethernet, 5.1 audio output, two USB 3.0 ports, and two display outputs (D-Sub and HDMI). Also a pleasing phenomenon is the presence of three SATA 6 Gbps ports, which is not a negligible aspect even considering today's SSD prices.
