Encouraging results.
In AMD's presentation, it compared the performance of the next-generation ATI Radeon HD graphics controllers with its main rivals: the HD 4870 fought against the GeForce 9800 GTX, and the HD 4850 fought against the GeForce 8800 GT in Crysis, Call of Duty 4, Call of Juarez, in the Quake 4, World in Conflict, Doom 3, FarCry and FEAR benchmarks. Here we see DirectX 9, DirectX 10, and OpenGL tests, in all of which the "red" cards came out victorious. Independent tests will decide how biased and authoritative these results are, and let's not forget that in the meantime NVIDIA is not being lazy either, since the GeForce GTX 17/260 duo will be coming on June 280.
