Efficient EVGA water cooling for Fermire

EVGA shared some images and measurement data about its water cooling solution for the new GeForces. The results are convincing, the price is less.

As we know, Fermik is not exactly known for their low operating temperatures. According to EVGA measurements, the factory GTX 470 warmed up to 83 degrees Celsius, while the water-cooled specimen named Hydro Copper stopped at 38 degrees. For the GTX 480, these values are 95 and 49 degrees. Seeing the results, the manufacturer also did some tuning on its cards, the clocks are as follows in GPU / Shader / Memory order:

  • GeForce GTX 470 Hydro Copper FTW: 650/1300/3402 MHz
  • GeForce GTX 480 Hydro Copper FTW: 750/1500/3800 MHz

Efficient EVGA water cooling for Fermire

Of course, everything has a price: for the GTX 448 with 470 CUDA cores with a "halved" temperature, we will have to pay 500 dollars, while for the older brother, the GTX 480 with 480 CUDA cores, we will have to pay 650 dollars after they become available.
