The manufacturer has updated the professional segment with cards built around the Cayman GPU.
AMD has officially introduced the FirePro V5900 and V7900 video cards called Cayman, which use a graphics processor called Cayman and want to be used in professional applications. Another common feature is that they are equipped with 2GB of GDDR5 onboard memory and support 30-bit color display. For the V5900, the GPU has been shortened enough to keep power consumption low. In this case, this means 512 stream processors, and the maximum power consumption of the card is 75 Watts, so it does not require a separate PCI-E power connector. The back panel has two DisplayPorts and one DVI, so you can display independent content on three monitors at the same time. The V7900 is already much more powerful as far as the Cayman chip is concerned, as there are 1.280 stream processors available here, the maximum power consumption of the card is 150 watts, so you also need to connect a six-pin PCI-E power cable here. This model can display current content on four monitors simultaneously thanks to the four 1.2 DisplayPort on the back. The memory bus width remained 256 bits for both, 64 GB / s for the cheaper version, and 160 GB / s for the big sibling.
New features that support DirectX 11, OpenGL 4.1, and OpenCL 1.1 are available with a three-year warranty. The suggested retail price for the FirePro V5900 is $ 599, while the V7900 is $ 999.
