Updated Conroe processors next year
Intel’s latest schedule already includes specifications for the new Core 2007 Duo models coming out in 2.
The first update to the Core 2 Duo processor family will feature three new CPUs, each with 4 MB of L1333 cache and a XNUMX MHz system bus frequency.
The 2,93 GHz E6800 isn’t really a new model, just a renamed version of the Core 2 Extreme X6800. This means that the FSB remained at 1066 MHz in the same way, while the size of the second-level cache remained at 4 MB.
With this, Intel is practically preparing for the arrival of the quad-core Core 2 Extreme QX6700, which will be the only one to bear the name Extreme characteristic of the manufacturer's top processors.
