Fractal Design Define R4 - Less Is Still More!

When we take down the side cover, we can't be surprised at one thing, and that is the ubiquitous noise insulation. The Define R3 was similar, we didn't have to buy a separate soundproof kit, it was included in the price of the house. This is a particularly big and even big big red dot for the manufacturer!

Looking more closely at the interior, we can see that, if not much, some changes have been made here as well. The number of removable storage devices has not changed, we can still install eight hard drives, but now the frame structure is no longer one-piece. The top five group can be highlighted to accommodate oversized expansion cards, or, if you don’t like it, you can screw it in 90 degrees so that the hard drive terminals don’t face the side. It's like we've seen it somewhere. Of course, this is not the point, just do good things with each other, it will only be good for us!

Another clever change is that the openings for the cables have become smaller, but they are larger than their predecessors, so it has become easier to drain the whips, they need to be strung less.

As for the inside, we really can’t complain. The plating is thicker than average, the frame is strong, the sides are also thick, no wonder it’s hard to lift.

Now that we have removed the side panel, it is worth counting how many and what size fans we can use in the house. Well, the front panel can cost two 14 inches, one of which already comes with the house, and we can buy a second one if we want. There’s also a 14-inch venti on the back front, plus that comes with the cottage. On the cover of the Define R4 we find two fan slots without air pellets, 14 cm pieces can also come here. There is also a 14-inch space on the side of the house and on the bottom plate, so if we count it correctly, a total of seven 14-centimeter vents can be used. air and push into the house.

Okay, we went through everything, the sound insulation that completely lined the inside of the house, the plenty of fans, the extremely rugged frame, we haven’t talked about a little thing yet, but it’s almost a must in a house like Define R4. This is nothing more than the rubber mounts on the hard drive trays, which also allow the drives to operate with noise reduction.

Well, now we've seen it all, let's sum it up!
