Tension is incessant - do we need it?
We first examine the lower-power piece, which, as indicated above, is mostly recommended for home use. The BTN-400A is a member of the Blackknight product family. This family consists of relatively low-powered members. These are called BNT-400A, BNT-500A and BNT-600A, the essential difference between which is the battery capacity, which is 400, 500 and 600 VA, respectively. Here, the 400 and 500 types paid their respects. The theory is true here as well, so the two products differ only in their performance and external dimensions.
The box and packaging are almost identical for the family members, and the supplies received are the same, which means two installation and use instructions and a power cord for the Blackknights. The BTN-400A, which weighs not a small weight, is very carefully placed in the box, wrapped in foil and padded with styrofoam elements, so it is difficult to imagine any damage during transport.
The structure and appearance of the unit is robust. On the front panel we find the power button and the indicator LED supplemented with some figures, and the informative sticker on the cover helps us to use the power button correctly (because it has several functions). The rugged plastic cover, as the name implies, has a matte black finish, making fingerprints less visible on it.
Turn the back of the Blackknight toward you to view the outputs and inputs. For the plain Blackknight series, the list is not very extensive, there is only a 230 V input and one of the same output available. The former is, of course, used to power the UPS, while the latter is used to power the computer through the UPS. As there is no software for this family of products and no way to connect to a PC for data exchange, there is no USB or RS232. RJ45 ports are also a shortcoming, so there is no way to protest our ADSL modem here. Before commissioning, the battery requires approximately 6 hours of charging, which is a sealed, lead-containing piece.
