ASUS has introduced the EeeBox EB1030 net, which has a capacity of just 1 liter.
The physical size of the machine based on the Intel Atom "Cedar Trail" platform is 219 × 172,5 × 29 mm, and its weight is barely 690 grams. Under the hood, we find a dual-core Atom D2550 processor running at 1,86 GHz. The work of the central unit is supported by 1 GB of memory (expandable to 4 GB), for data storage you can choose a 320 or 500 GB hard disk or a 16 or 32 GB SSD.
Most of the basic network and peripheral connectors are: Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 b / g / n WiFi module, four USB 2.0 ports, D-Sub and HDMI outputs, as well as earphone and microphone outputs. The machine has a very favorable power consumption: on average it can withstand 15 watts, but it stays below 30 watts even under full load. The main problem is the relatively weak IGP (GMA3150), which severely limits the possibilities.
ASUS also plans to launch the EB1031 and EB1033, respectively, where the Intel Atom D2700 and NVIDIA GeForce GT 610M (the latter only) will be introduced.
The EeeBox EB1030 comes in stores with a price tag of € 296.
