We cooked this well 2. - Xiaomi smart micro into the kitchen!

Introductory

You've been reading about a month ago About Xiaomi's smart box wrote my article, but not only that week cook came to me, but also a new microwave oven, of course, is also Xiaomi insignia. True, our old mic still works, but Christmas is coming, I love working in the kitchen, cooking, so I surprised myself, and although I had a little doubt about it, I already know I did well.

Exterior and interior

Again, this article will not be a standard test, for several reasons. One reason it’s just a micro, nothing extra really, so you can’t even write too much about it. The other reason is that the technical specification isn't very interesting either, and although I got it because of my profession, now I don't want to explain the working principle in a mouth-watering way, because the dog usually doesn't care how it works. The point is to warm up.

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Microwave 12

So Xiaomi's gossip is just a micro from the outside. In contrast to domestically sourced equipment, this is not an orphaned word for us, everything is in Chinese, and not in a figurative sense, but really.

The controls on this machine consist of two touch-sensitive buttons, a large rotary and push-button. With these, essentially all functions are available. At first it’s a little scary that we have no idea when to switch to what, but I’ll describe everything in use. It’s all reasonable and simple, plus if for some reason we get out of our heads where we’re, there’s still a dashboard on our phone, at least in English.

Going back to the exterior, we can pretty much end this story here, since, every other point is like any randomly selected heater. White metal casing, not too deep box, four fairly large legs, back set of cable. The latter is a Chinese plug because this micro was intended for the domestic market, to my knowledge it cannot even be ordered from China alone.

The inside is a little more interesting, but only in terms of a momentum. When we open the door, we notice that the pushed Chinese forgot about the turntable, instead of the usual things, we only find a sheet of glass inserted into the bottom of the interior. It looks like a ceramic hob, but it’s not, really isn’t.

abilities

Let's see the dry facts! The machine weighs 12 pounds and measures 447 x 347 x 281 millimeters. If you are looking for more information about it, you will come in handy with the exact type designation, which in this case is MWBLXE1ACM. The total current consumption is 1150 watts, of which what is spent on micromanaging, i.e. what can be called net output power, is 700 watts. The rays are produced by a Toshiba magnetron (it wasn’t a life-giving robot, the Megatron), a pretty good name in the industry, that’s a good point. This is usually indicated as performance on the box and in the description. The internal capacity is 20 liters, so it will not fit half a pig, but not bad, in use, below, I will also describe why!

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Microwave 2

In the case of better micros, it is basic that the radiation does not come out, and of course there are rules and standards adopted for this, so we cannot say that it is special that the Xiaomi machine is like that. At the door, we are protected by four layers, there is a lattice and glass in it, otherwise three layers of protection are written.

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Microwave 5

It is endowed with the usual abilities, such as heating, melting, and just as in better places, so is sterilization. Of course, there have been others, but just sit on the needles a little more, or skip to the next chapter if you can't take the excitement anymore!

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Microwave 7

Actually, all that's left is an important capability, and that is the wifi interface, which is not a very common terrain in a microwave, but here it is, because it's smart, too, and we wouldn't be able to control it from the phone otherwise.

Use

When you set up your machine, the first thing to do is install the Mi Home app on your phone. If you bought the smart box, you're over it. Plug it in, hold down the two touch-sensitive buttons, and then use app to find your new kitchen smart gadget. If you go beyond that, you can already find the control panel within the program and start using it.

The program rivals the simplicity of a tree, but unlike the smart box, I use it here in the rarest cases because it doesn’t need to be heated. For thawing, yes, because choosing from three types of meat, giving the weight of meat to be thawed is easier and faster over the phone.

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Microwave 4

So easy to use. The simplest function is heating, at this we can change the performance and of course call how long to heat. The telephone program is unnecessary for this. You can change the power by pressing the left one of the front panel buttons, enter the time with the scroll wheel, and then start the heating by pressing it.

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Microwave 6

The built-in programs can be accessed with the left button, the subroutines can be switched with the scroll button. So, for example, if you are defrosting, you can use the left button to select the program marked d (this is defrosting) and then scroll to select the type of meat. D1 is beef / pork, d2 is poultry, d3 is fish. Then give the weight of the product to be melted. Well, for example, we go through this process from the phone in two moments, while pressing the buttons and turning the scroll wheel takes at least three times as long.

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Microwave 3

So you have the basic features, but what else? On the one hand, there are the built-in recipes, some of which are completely unnecessary for me, but there are also useful and usable things. These, I think, are programs marked A, designed specifically for young children. There is milk heating here, even vegetable steaming (?).

The next point is sterilization, where you can choose whether you want to sterilize the micro or the things you put in it. The latter can again be a favorite of children.

Experiences

Honestly, I don’t believe you can cook good food in the microwave, and that wasn’t changed by Xiaomi’s solution either. For this reason, I also omit the built-in recipes. I'm not going to cook, and it's also a completely unnecessary recipe for popcorn, because I don't usually buy anything other than a bag, and even that will make it too stinky in the apartment, so I rarely use this machine for this.

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Microwave 11

So, I think, and probably a lot of people will agree with him, that such equipment is primarily good for heating, possibly melting frozen things. 99 percent of us have such responsibilities. On the other hand, it doesn't really matter how you know these basic features. I'll shoot the joke, Xiaomi's gadget surprisingly well!

Let's start with heating as the basics of basic operations! I think everyone has already faced the problem that when you put a plate of soup to warm up, the soup boils at the edges and stays cold in the middle. This also means that the plate overheats so much that it cannot be removed without gloves or kitchen towels. Then when we take it out and stir it, it turns out we can put it back because it’s still inedibly cold. I hate!

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Microwave 9

Well, with the Xiaomi micro, it doesn't quite work that way! Because the rays do not arrive evenly from the side, but from under the plate, behind the glass plate, the soup heats up much more evenly. It’s not perfect either, but it’s many orders of magnitude better than the traditional turntable solution. Anyway, if you don’t know, that’s why the turntable is there to heat the food you put in more evenly.

So, the point is that if we heat the soup so much that it is remarkably warm after mixing, the plate will not be hot either!

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Microwave 8

I have tried melting with wing melting several times in recent weeks. Perhaps it is a familiar experience to put in the frozen meat, and then, by the time it melts on the edges, it dries nicely to the main, or in the worst case, tread hardness. For the first time in Xiaomi, I melted chicken wings, it became perfect. The wings melted but were not cooked at all. I would add, the amount was not too large, so the melting time was not too long either. For the second time, more than a pound of chicken breast entered the machine. By the time the defrosting was done, there was already a little cooked meat here and there, but, let’s say, if I took the trouble to disassemble the big pile in the middle of the program and melt it further, that would have been avoided as well.

The point, then, is that melting is also much, much smoother than with turntable solutions.

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Microwave 10

As I wrote above, I don’t think the microwave was invented for cooking, but if you can, refute it. However, the test would not be a test if at least I hadn’t tried to make french fries, as there is a recipe for that. I cut the 400 gram potatoes into thin slices to an even size. The Xiaomi micro told this crowd that it would make fries out of it in 10 minutes. Well, he didn't. The slices remained raw here and there, dried out elsewhere, but they had nothing to do with the french fries. So that's it!

Sum it!

The conclusion has to be drawn, and it’s not going to be about how good I cooked in the smart micro. It will be about the most basic things that most of us use such a structure, that is, heating and melting.

Let's start with the fact that the 700-watt micro with the 60-watt turntable used so far is approx. it is on the same level when looking at the heating time. That is, 100 watts plus does not apply here. More importantly, however, this micro is much more livable, with orders of magnitude less annoyance than its traditional counterparts. With everyday use, I no longer need potholder gloves to take out a plate of soup, and I feel like it weighs a lot more on the lat than the inability to cook, because no other micro knows it.

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Microwave 14

In the same way, I can only praise the melting function, which, although not one hundred percent, I would say is a strong ninety, while I would only put the turntable so far in half. The only difference is that until then I put the frozen meat in the sink for hours at a bag, or if I had to hurry, the hot water bath remained, until now I entrust this task to the microwave with a calm heart. Just because, as it is smart watch even in the case, when I get to work, I get a message on my phone, in the meantime, I sit down smoothly and work in front of the computer.

Whether it’s worth buying is already a harder question. I paid for it, it came, I use it and I really like it, I didn’t regret it, so in that sense the answer is yes, because I would feel it if I regretted the money spent on it, but that’s not the case. On the other hand, if you have a well-functioning machine that you’re happy with, the plate doesn’t burn your hands, you don’t boil the soup, you don’t cook the meat while melting, it’s not worth buying. It’s not worth it, because what’s smart is that you can control it from your phone, that it can be timed, that you can start and stop in front of the TV are not features that would make it worth switching.

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Microwave 12

So the point is, if you want to replace your microcontroller, it’s worth buying, but not because it’s smart, but because it’s better than traditional rotary factories, and you’ll experience that benefit day in and day out.

As usual, the question of price remained at the end of the article. I’d rather not dissect whether Xiaomi’s micro is cheap or expensive, obviously there will be someone who wants it right away, even someone who will be expensive. More importantly, on the occasion of the publication of the article, we managed to cry out an exclusive coupon promotion from the web store.
