In the first part of the article series, in the second part of the article, we recommended the best gadgets under HUF 5000. We didn’t even dictate what category to choose from, so then everything from the notebook to the scooter will be. So let's see what we think is worth watching this month!

1. Xiaomi Mi Ultra Short 5000 laser projector

When I want to put together a home theater, we obviously need to pay attention to two things, picture and sound. In the case of sound, you need a good amplifier, preferably at least 5.1, but nowadays no 7.1 system is an exaggeration. In the case of an image, the largest possible diagonal and contrasting, color-correct image are important. You may not know it, but the cinematic feeling comes from not being able to capture the image with the center-focused part of our vision, we also need to use peripheral vision, and we need to rotate our heads if we want to focus on the right part of the image. If it doesn’t exist, the experience will be no different than watching TV.

The large diagonal is also available with TV, but we have to pay millions for the right size. What is the solution? Well the projector!

In 2017, Xiaomi created the most perfect home theater projector in existence. One projector is the first lampless system, which thanks to a laser light source and ALPD technology gives a very bright, 5000 lumens of light and a very good contrast ratio. The resolution is 1920 x 1200 pixels, which gives a 16:10 aspect ratio image.

The Xiaomi Mi laser projector resides in a 41 x 29,1 x 8,8 cm housing weighing 7 kilograms. The compact size is deceptive, with this projector you get outstanding performance. It is the world’s first theater-class laser projector capable of displaying images up to 150 inches in diameter. The nice thing about this is that you don’t even have to be far from the wall for this big diagonal. The high-depth ultra-focus lens system allows you to get a sharp image at a distance of up to 5 centimeters, and from a distance of 50 centimeters you can enjoy a true cinematic experience with a 150-inch diagonal image.

The Xiaomi Mi laser projector is equipped with a T968 CPU with a quad-core processor with Cortex-A53 cores. The power of the hardware allows us to enjoy even FHD, i.e. 1920 x 1080 pixel images. The projector's convenient, efficient and accurate electronic focus allows no detail in the image to be lost during use. The device, which runs an Android 6-based MIUI TV system, has a built-in stereo speaker that can deliver 30 watts of power.

The Xiaomi Mi projector uses ALPD 3.0 laser light source technology developed by Appotronics, which works completely differently than the usual DLP technology. The final image is created by microscopic mirrors (reflective lenses) in the DMD chip, which are able to move millions of times per second, creating the image. The number of mirrors is equal to the resolution of the projected image. The projector can have a maximum brightness of up to 5000 lumens and a static contrast ratio of 3000: 1. The projector shouldn't be ashamed of color fidelity either, with NTSC color space coverage reaching 85 percent. The Ricoh-manufactured projector system used in Xiaomi Mi has a lifespan of 25 hours, which means it can be used for up to 000 years with two hours of average use per day.

As I wrote above, the projector is now available for purchase. Unfortunately, the unusual technology costs a lot, so we have to pay 498 thousand forints for a great home cinema experience. Of course, cost is just a matter of comparison, as the price of competitors using a similar solution can be double that. 2. Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro (Intel Core i7 version)

There are plenty of notebooks available in all categories. There are cheaper, more expensive and there are machines that represent the premium category. It is important to note that the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro falls into the latter category. For the sake of curiosity, I looked in my favorite wholesaler to see what machines we could get with similar equipment and exterior features. Well, there weren’t many of them, but what’s perhaps most comparable to it is the Dell Inspiron 5579. A similarly thick housing, similar in premium materials, has the same processor and memory size. True, Dell has AMD and Xiaomi has NVIDIA VGA controller. The only positive at Dell is that we also get a secondary hard drive in addition to the 256GB SSD. And how much does this Dell machine cost? At a wholesale price, we have to call for no less than 354 thousand forints. This is already the wow category, but understandably, a premium machine costs that much these days, and for that price, it’s worth measuring the price of the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro, which you’ll find below.

The Xiaomi Notebook Pro boasts a 15,6-inch diagonal and dimensions of 36.00 x 24.40 x 1.50 centimeters, with a light weight of just 1,95 kilograms. The case is made entirely of metal, magnesium alloy, cooling is more efficient than any of its brands.

The keys on the keyboard are made of metal, large, comfortable, the keystroke feedback is perfect, and they have been backlit, which not only looks good, but also makes work more efficient if you don't want to work with decorative lighting at night. Xiaomi is proud to compare its notebook to the Apple MacBook Pro 2017, where the Xiaomi is 1,5 millimeters thinner than the MacBook Pro, with a C-type port on both sides of the machine. We have 2 USB 3.0 ports, a 3 in 1 MicroSD reader, an HDMI port and a 3,5mm audio connector, as well as a fingerprint reader.

There can be no doubt about the specifications of the new notebook, the manufacturer has packed the latest technology into the housing. The Xiaomi Notebook Pro is the latest Intel Core ™ The i7-8550U has a quad-core 1.8 GHz processor that can scale up to 4 GHz at higher loads. It is one of the first notebooks in the world to be based on an eighth generation Intel processor. In addition to the processor, depending on the configuration, you will find 16 GB of DDR4 (2400 MHz) memory and a 256 GB PCI-E / NVMe SSD. The graphics accelerator is an NVIDIA GeForce MX150. You'll also find 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac dual-channel, 2,4- and 5GHz Wi-Fi with two antennas, Bluetooth 4.1, and a quick charge that can drain a low-battery battery. Charge to 50 percent in 35 minutes. The display has a screen diagonal of 15,6 inches, the panel has a resolution of FHD, i.e. 1920 x 1080 pixels, and is based on IPS technology, enjoying all its benefits, i.e. excellent viewing angles, brilliant contrast and color accuracy.

The 8000mAh battery is sufficient for 7-8 hours of average and 2-3 hours of player mode. The display has a diagonal measurement of 15,6 inches, the panel has a resolution of FHD, i.e. 1920 x 1080 pixels, and is based on IPS technology, enjoying all its advantages, i.e. excellent viewing angles, brilliant contrast and color accuracy. It is important that the display is capacitive, touch-sensitive, ie you can even poke your finger if it is more comfortable to control.

This machine is currently the pinnacle of Chinese notebook production, but in terms of price, even if we dare not call it cheap, it is definitely worthwhile and cheaper than most competitors with similar capabilities. 3. Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 white, ceramic version

Xiaomi's current top phone, though not for long, because it comes with the Mi 7 and in principle comes with a version called the MIX 2S. In the meantime, however, this milky ceramic house-receiving mobile is the pinnacle, and not just because of the interior, but also because of the exterior. There isn’t another manufacturer that uses ceramics for their phones, and that gives an exclusive feel we don’t get from other manufacturers. It also includes the fact that the phone did not get the usual gray color, but glittery, snow white and beautiful. Plus, it’s the company’s first phone to get 8GB of memory.

There are, of course, several versions of the Xiaomi MIX 2, with different memory and storage sizes, as well as a ceramic backplate but metal-framed device. What, however, is because this article is about the best stuff we have by far the best we’ve put into this article. The more expensive, so all-ceramic married device can be bought in white and black (gray), but still, this white is more interesting. So here we can't find a metal frame, it is made of all ceramics, including the buttons. The size of the phone in this is 150,5 × 74,6 × 7,7 millimeters, it weighs 187 grams, so it is only two grams, but heavier than the metal-framed solution. This device has 8 GB of memory, the mass storage is a 128 GB UFS 2.1 storage. So this phone is the first Xiaomi device to get 8GB of memory, so it has caught up with phones like the Asus ZenFone AR, OnePlus 5 and Nibua Z17.

The other features are the same as the cheaper models. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 has a 5,99-inch FullHD screen, though the aspect ratio here is not 16: 9, but 18: 9, or if you prefer 2: 1, so the number of pixels is not 1920 x 1080 instead of 2160 × 1080. The pixel density of the panel thus became 403 ppi. The display has a contrast ratio of 1500: 1. The 835 GHz version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 2,4 SoC works on the phone, paired with an Adreno 540 GPU. The battery capacity is 3400mAh, which supports Quick Charge 3.0 (9V / 2A) fast charging via the USB Type-C interface.

The only rear-facing camera has a 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 sensor, a 1,25-micron pixel size, and 4-axis anti-shake f / 2.0 aperture. There is a 5 MP sensor on the front panel under the lenses.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 has a dual SIM card slot that supports 4G + and the reportedly used B20 800 Hz band at home. The phone does not have a 3,5 mm audio connector, so if you want to listen to music through your ears, you can do so via either the USB-C port or Bluetooth.

The phone is not cheap, but with 8GB of memory and a completely unique, exclusive look, this is understandable. Anyone who buys such a phone can expect not to come across a corner from a Samsung with the same, like some premium, curved display, and that's worth paying for. Nevertheless, the price does not hang out from the usual premium category, in fact, the 170 thousand forints they ask for can even be said to be friends.

4. Xiaomi Ninebot Plus Electric

My friends, this stuff is the pinnacle of greed, a tool after which everyone is guaranteed to turn around on the street. You can be so cool with you that you can't even imagine. Let’s just say I’d say cheap, but for example, it costs less than the previous gadget, the ceramic phone. My tooth hurts like this terribly, but I haven't decided yet whether to invest more and more, even though I go to Pest a lot, I think it would be useful to have one like this in the trunk of the car, and it would be enough to come to one of the P + R wrappers. glide on.

The Xiaomi Ninebot Plus is a two-wheeled scooter that can stop on its wheels without assistance, balancing itself. The vehicle was, of course, powered by an electric drive. The total power of the built-in motors is 800 watts. The built-in LI-ion battery can drive the vehicle for a maximum of 35 kilometers on a single charge, but according to the manufacturer's own declaration, it is worth treating with caution, in the real world, we can count on 20 kilometers in street traffic.

Xiaomi Ninebot Plus has a maximum load capacity of 100 kilograms, so it cannot be used by taller people. Maybe I should lose some weight too, even though I can’t reach the glaze, so I’m approaching it. The maximum speed of the vehicle is 18 kilometers per hour. As an extra, the Nine Plus can also be controlled remotely. To do this, we need to be within 20 meters and use the tiny remote control included in the package.

If that wasn’t enough of the curiosities yet, here’s another weirdness. We have become accustomed to drones being able to work in a follow me function, that is, they do not follow us, but the remote control). Well, Xiaomi Ninebot Plus knows that feat too. Imagine walking down the street and rolling this thing after us, or putting your pack on it after shopping, walking home comfortably, and Ninebot Plus taking the moto home instead of us.

In addition to the many curiosities, Xiaomi’s novelty even looks good. Slowly everywhere we are surrounded by gadgets that we were amazed at in some fantastic movie 5-10 years ago, and I like that! You can also add accessories. It has matching elbows and knee pads, but extras like a low, hand-held, phone-held handlebar can be used instead of low-knee control.

For the Xiaomi Ninebot Plus Electric, the Europe Railway Priority Mail delivery method is optional, which, like the EU Express, promises duty- and VAT-free arrival, although the delivery time is longer than for the EU Express, but due to its large size and battery, only this may come into play.

5. Xiaomi roborock S50 robot vacuum cleaner

I will be completely honest. Before I bought myself such a vacuum cleaner I wouldn’t have thought that ever, any robotic vacuum cleaner would work at home. I didn’t have a good experience with robots. They weren’t well cleaned, they were stupid, so I felt like they were just good at flashing in front of buddies, for me, a robot was cleaning my apartment. Since I am a Xiaomi believer I gave this structure a chance, I was with it, if it doesn’t come I will sell and stay with my money. Needless to say, I didn’t sell it. Ever since my sons were born, it’s been a month and a half now that I’m starting every day and the apartment has become almost dust free. Not only the floor, but also much less dust on the furniture, because whatever lands on the ground is not stirred up again. It was a grand prize, now I’m very happy for it!

So, as I wrote in the introduction, I usually didn’t have too much confidence in robotic vacuum cleaners. However, the Xiaomi vacuum cleaner caught my attention as soon as the first more detailed descriptions arrived. No less than 13 sensors are installed in the machine, which are responsible for mapping the apartment so that you do not knock the legs of delicate furniture or fall down, say, on the stairs, if there are any inside the apartment.

After switching on, the laser sensor on the roof starts working immediately and maps the space around it in 360 degrees. You can clearly see in the phone app that you can't see everywhere when you start, since the furniture covers most of the apartment, at least at Roborock's "eye level". However, wherever you look, you can already see, for example, the legs of tables and other furniture.

After departure, the vacuum cleaner walks through the walls of the room, then plans the cleaning route in real time to get to the end as soon as possible with as few detours as possible. In the phone application, you can see in the pictures that you have divided the room into two parts. There’s nothing in the middle there, he simply decided it would be best to clean one half of the room first and then the other.

I would add that we can even set this in this way, because on the phone we can designate cleaning zones in the program, which the machine will then walk by itself and clean in a nice line within the specified boundaries. You can also buy self-adhesive cleaning limit strips for this vacuum cleaner, but you can also solve them without them with the manually set areas.

The manufacturer says water cleaning is one of the most important innovations. For the system to work, the sample was taken from nature, the vacuum cleaner uses a bionic wet traction system, whatever that means. To be sure, the floor-wiped cloth is attached to the bottom of the water tank and can perform wet cleaning with the contents of the water tank for up to 45-60 minutes. The water is sucked back by the machine and filtered through a Teflon-coated filter that is washable, replacing it once a year.

The vacuum cleaner, like most home Xiaomi smart devices, can be controlled from a phone. For this we get a very good little app within the Xiaomi Mi Home app. In other words, we need to install the smart home control program itself, add the vacuum cleaner to this device, and then add a shortcut to the home screen. The program is transparent and easy to learn even for those who have never used one before. If you don’t know English either, that’s fine, you’ll easily thrive on the clutter of pictograms.

It is safe to say that this vacuum cleaner is now the pinnacle of home robotic vacuum cleaners. Huge battery, intelligent machine that can plan cleaning in real time, which is not simply controlled by the collision sensor, but a really automatic structure that adapts to changes in the environment. If you want a good robotic vacuum cleaner for your home, buy this or the previous version, which, of all the essential features, only doesn’t know mopping compared to it, but is much cheaper.
