Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C3 overdrive with AM2 socket

So far, we weren't surprised if Corsair memories were used in one overdrive test, but we haven't had much news about the pair of newly developed modules and the AM2 socket so far.

In this test, PC2-6400 memories with CAS3 timing were tested and already supported the new EPP standard, which helps maximize module performance. The essence of the EPP process, released as a joint child of NVIDIA and Corsair, is that you can choose from at least two performance profiles, one of which is specifically designed for tuners.

The modules are officially DDR2-800 rated, with a timing of 9-3-4-3 at 2,2 volts.

Unfortunately, the BIOS of the M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard in the test does not support the new feature of Corsair memories, the EPP already detailed above, but it looks like they did an excellent job at XtremeSystems without it.

The test configuration:

  • AM2 AMD Athlon 64 3200+ “Orleans”
  • ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe (nForce 570 SLI)
  • Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C3 2×1024MB
  • Single EVGA 7800GTX KO @ 490 + 40/1390
  • ForceWare 84.21, modified drive settings (High Performance)

According to the latest report, released on July 1, the modules operated at 950 MHz, 2,5 v, and with a timing of 8-3-4-3.
