Cisco has introduced its new E-Series home wifi routers
The products represent a new level of speed, scope and ease of use, in addition to the latest design and advanced functionality.
The new series of five routers is capable of outstanding performance. Key features that provide speeds of up to 450 Mbit / s include a 3 × 3 radio stream configuration for increased coverage. External power amplifiers increase signal strength and reduce dead space. And virtual USB technology connects USB-based printers, storage, and other devices to the network. Also native to some E-Series models is native IPv6 and 6 rd support.
For users who experience weaker signal strength, or so-called “dead spots,” in their homes, Cisco has introduced the Linksys Wireless-N Range Extender repeater. The job of this is to capture an existing wireless signal and then “repeat” it several times within the home, i.e., multiply it. The Linksys Range Extender also acts as a bridge within the wireless network - thanks to its integrated Ethernet port, it connects a wired printer, Internet-connected television or game console to the wireless network.

According to IDC, in 2010, only 16% of wireless home networks in Western Europe used Wireless-N technology. Over the next five years, as the number of wireless devices such as tablets, smartphones, and Internet TVs grows, the number of users of the Wireless-N solution is expected to double because of the latest technology required for optimal performance of the above.
Each E-Series Linksys router runs Cisco Connect ™ software, which allows users to set up their network in a few simple steps as well as customize wireless settings. On an already configured network, users can use Cisco Connect software to:
- add additional devices to the network
- parental control setting
- providing Internet access to guests on a separate guest network
- check the speed of your broadband connection using the Broadband Speed Meter
- automatic check for firmware and software updates
