The first measurements of the new AMD APU have been completed, the numbers are reminiscent of the old days.

With the HP Envy x360 notebook, we have finally got a glimpse of the performance of the brand new generation, for our part we are extremely pleased with what we have seen. The quad-core Ryzen 5 2500U is just the smaller model (it ran on the test bench), yet it picks up the glove with the also-new Core i5-8250U, a similar or perhaps higher-priced solution from Intel. AMD's ultramobile chip, on the other hand, still doesn't shine with its single-fiber performance, the image changes under full load, the chip is capable of the same, sometimes higher speeds.

The picture is much clearer than IGP, the Vega 512 graphics unit featuring 8 assembly lines easily crushes the Intel UHD Graphics 620 GPU, the difference seems to be multi-generational, often deciding on playability. The topic does not deserve more words, fortunately there is a more serious candidate here.

Tech Report also deployed the GeForce MX150 mobile video card, the desktop equivalent of which is the GeForce GT 1030, for ease of installation. Ryzen was able to use 25U and 30GB of GDDR5 chips as onboard memory - the difference should be assessed accordingly. Vega 2500 has lagged behind the competition due to the former, the extent of the lag depends on the extent to which a given game relies on memory bandwidth.

The Ryzen 7 2700U can once again be a significant improvement in graphics performance.

Due to the scattering, it is difficult to form a comprehensive picture, but the high degree of integration has a visible technological advantage, it is suspected that no one has pressed such computing power into a chip with such consumption.
