Introductory

With my last coffee test, I stirred a big storm in the potty, with plenty of amateur baristas explaining why you can’t make good coffee in the Blitzwolf machine. They did this based on their experience (the clevernesses they read on the net), so that of course none of them could take a closer look at the machine. They must have been right, but I’ve been making great coffees for myself and my friends ever since. So we are satisfied.

After a successful purchase, I decided to further expand my range of Blitzwolf kitchen appliances with a machine that I would like to know for a long time. And this is nothing more than a contact grill.

For those who have read my older articles, it may have already turned out that I really like to be skillful in the kitchen, conjuring delicious flavors, so with this grill I am now hitting two birds in one fell swoop. On the one hand, I can make an article (maybe a video) about it, on the other hand, I can also entertain friends.

Before I get into the practice test, let me tell you a little bit about the Blitzwolf BW-SM1 and why I chose it!

Well, I was sure I wanted a relatively large machine, but not an unmanageable one, but enough to make room for a slice of meat.

I was also sure that I wanted a barbecue function in addition to the usual contact grill function, and if possible, implementing this in one machine, I would no longer have to buy two machines.

The third aspect was power, by no means did I want to get less than 2000 watts of power.

Well, the Blitzwolf BW-SM1 meets these criteria. The size of the baking tray is 31 x 24 centimeters, in barbecue mode, and when fully unfolded, it means twice that. That is, in this mode, no less than 62 x 24 inches (the manufacturer says 1488 inches, that sounds better) is available for baking! Power can range from 1800 to 2100 watts, depending on the baking mode you choose.

And now may come the extras that highlight the Blitzwolf grill from the gray crowd.

The Blitzwolf oven is not a simple piece. By no means can we say that it is made for blood professionals, in fact, the opposite is true, that is, it is designed for people who want to make excellent roasts but do not want to take part in a multi-year training course.

Blitzwolf packed the grill with sensors for this purpose. The most important of these is the sensor, which specifically measures how thick the meat we put between the plates of the oven. The machine automatically adjusts the cooking temperature and cooking time based on this sensor and the type of meat set.

So we basically have so much to do, give us what we want to fry, put the meat in the machine, and then let it work!

The media also mentions 7 clever recipes, but I couldn’t figure out what that meant.

By the end, there’s one more thing about the paper form that has already put a satisfied smile on my face while browsing the specification, and that is the fat collection tray.

I've used contact grills, though, cheaper. I hated it! For the fatter meats, the tray became full of fat while frying wherever he saw it. The meat was not roasted properly, sticking to everything, and the dishes after baking were also a torment.

So the ability to collect any spilled excess grease into a container from which I then just pour it out and put the tray in the dishwasher was an option I’ve always wanted!

A pudding meat test of eating

Let's see what is made!

Due to lack of time, I bought it in one of the chain stores, so it is feared that the steak, for example, will not be perfect. Let’s just say it’s not to my taste that the meat is marinated, I’m a believer in natural steak roasting. Just a little salt, freshly crazy pepper, and then we can fry the crust on the meat.

Bloody is real, at least for me, but with such a texture it is only enjoyable if we really bought meat that is not butler, such as sirloin, sirloin.

It also got marinated from chicken, it is not so much gas, so to speak. Chicken itself is relatively tasteless, which is why many people love it, because there are so many different flavors available with it, such as marinating.

I bought another serving of thin grilled sausages, I really have nothing to say about it, and I also bought two burger patties that look relatively high in meat and low in fat. Then, of course, the whole thing may just be food coloring, but that will come out during the test.

Now can come the real experience!

Let’s start with the fact that so much food was prepared that guests had to be invited to eat, so that way more people could test the flavors. I made the steak well fried. I just like it crusted, but most people like it at least halfway through, rather well fried.

Well, the meat was really well baked, maybe it had a slightly thicker crust on it than the optimal one, but it didn’t char. The thing was a success, but I think next time, if I want to bake well, I’ll still take it out 2-3 minutes early.

This was also the case with chicken breast fillets. I baked well. I would note here that I thought only the steak would write out in the oven to be rear, medium and well done, but it also wrote for the chicken. It’s just weird because I haven’t heard anyone eat roast chicken just fried.

So I baked the pip well, which was a bit much. There were already pieces of charcoal on the edges of the chest. The texture was excellent anyway, but I’m sure I’ll stop at the medium level next time. The problem may have been caused by the fact that the chicken breast has thicker parts in the middle and quite thin at the edges, so the thickness perception took a bit long to fry.

At the same time, the grilled sausage was perfect, one of them popped out, but the machine calculated the baking time flawlessly anyway and everything was just as fried as I like.

The hamburger stayed to the end and in unanimous opinion it was the best. Of course, this probably also required that the ingredients were good.

The point is, I only baked the hamburger patties for a short time with the lid closed. After a few minutes, I opened the oven in barbecue style and packed the cut buns on top of them to blush a little (I think a hamburger is perfect that way).

I roasted the meat well and put a slice of cheese on it for the last half minute to start melting on the meat. I put it all in one bun at a time, a little green salad and very little sauce, and it so happened that I decided, next time we invite guests I’ll have a burger night!

More experiences

The Blitzwolf machine works fully automatically, we cannot adjust the temperature or the cooking time. I was afraid that the set baking times would be short and then I had to restart the process. Well, that didn't happen, in fact, the chicken had a little bit of good.

Since there is no temperature display, it is difficult to determine how much the steak is overcooked, so the testing is not over for me yet, I will have to try out the rear and medium condition, but I am optimistic based on the degree of well done baking, I think it is great next time. I'm going to have a bloody steak for lunch.

While frying, it is advisable to turn the meat over once because the bottom will fry better. If you don't translate it will be wrong, I tried this directly, but the result is still better with one shoot. If we do not count this, the grill is absolutely intervention-free.

As I wrote above, Blitzwolf has made a machine that allows amateurs to make delicious food, well, that’s proven. It was an extremely convenient thing to put in the meat, set up the frying, and then sit down to chat with the guests while sipping a glass of red wine. The beep signaled when the meat was ready and I just had to serve it.

One more thing at the end, which is important. The non-stick properties of the baking surfaces are quite frank. Nothing burned there, fried. After baking, I put them in the dishwasher with the grease tray, and then the cleaning was done.

The fat collector also works great. The thing was not thought about too much, the baking surface is slightly tilted, simply the grease drains from the back, into the tray.

One more thing. The machine has active cooling, so after several hours of operation, neither the bottom nor the roof has overheated. Again, this only deserves a huge red dot, because unless we grab the warming tray, we’re guaranteed not to burn our hands!


 

Let's sum it up

I’ve been lucky with kitchen appliances lately. I’ve ordered several kitchen appliances from abroad over the past many years, mostly from a Chinese manufacturer, and all but one of them were perfect, in fact, they’ve still been using them for years.

Last time it was the Blitzwolf coffee maker, now came the Blitzwolf grill. I’m not saying it’s flawless, but it’s very close to it. Of course, I can’t tell you how long the mud will stand.

It’s pretty well put together, with thick heat-resistant plastics, thick-looking Teflon (or some anti-stick material), so on the first blick, I’m going to be grilling with it for a few years for sure.

The end of the price. There are many types of grill, 600-700 watt simpler pieces can be obtained for as little as 6000 forints, and the upper limit here is the starry sky. The price of machines with similar knowledge to the Blitzwolf BW-SM1 (fat collector, 2000+ watts, measuring the thickness of meat, large baking surface) starts somewhere between 48-55 thousand forints, but even in this price range we find much stupider.
